“I can ride a horse too.”, Markus told Nox. They could save some money instead of getting a cart. It wouldn’t be too hard to find someone Markus could trust to bring the horse back here, then.

“I come from a little further away from here. It’s quite a long travel, normally.”, he admitted, chuckling lightly.

Nox smiled. This man could ride a horse even with his eyes closed! That was a good feat all on it’s own!

“Alright” she replied. “I’ll hire us a horse and get some supplies for us trip”

Nox liked to pack god and drink if she was going on an adventure.

“That sounds like a plan. Feel free to continue leading through the town.”, Markus hummed with a smile. He couldn’t exactly keep his eyes closed on a horse -walking around he managed, but not being in full control of where he was going was pretty impossible. But, no one would see him, so it was fine.

“Then let’s keep going.”, Markus replied. He nudged his plush and it jumped back up onto his shoulders, nuzzling against his temple softly, making him smile softly. He stood up then, patting his coat to make sure it was clean.

“We’ll be walking quite a bit, before we can find someone to take us further. Or walk.”, he hummed. They did have to walk out of the forest, and then see how they’d continue their journey.

Nox nodded, her smile not fading as she took Markus’ hand once more. She knew the way out further north and away from her house so she guided Markus through the woodland, pointing out places and telling ancient, forbidden tales that she had found in an abandoned cabin to the west.

“This woodland holds a lot more than people think.” She sighed.

Markus let Nox lead, glad for it. He didn’t exactly know where to go, after all. So he trusted her to find a way out again. He listened closely to her, curious to know about what she learned from being curious and adventurous on her own.

“It sounds very interesting.”, he replied with a smile. He liked learning, especially about new places.

“Of course you can.”, Markus said, smiling encouragingly and kind of proudly at Nox. He was glad she had managed to do it so easily, without having any clue how it might feel like, or was supposed to be like. What she may be able to do and what not.

“Your magic is unique to you. No one else can do what you can.”.

Nox looked down at her hands as she took in Markus’ words. She had magic and it was a nice magic, something she could use to help the world.

She moved to be in front of Markus and sat down, glancing down at the plush cat and smiling softly. She looked up at Markus.

“Markus? Can you teach me to control it better as we travel?” She was eager to learn more about her newfound power.

“I’m not sure I can really teach you, but I’ll be there to help as much as I can.”, Markus replied with a smile. He was glad Nox trusted him like this.

“I’m sure you’ll find out what your magic specifically is while we’re traveling. It could be a lot, after all.”, he chuckled softly, but smiled. For himself, it hadn’t been that hard. He could make plush animals, and he had learned he could give them life. It hadn’t been too hard, really.

Markus gave her space, sitting down in the grass nearby. He kept his eyes closed as always, not showing his eyes. The plush on his shoulders jumped down and nuzzled against his lap, before curling up on his lap.

He pet it softly as he waited for Nox. The quiet making him focus a little on his own magic, feeling it pulse through him, and echoing from his plush.

Nox kept quiet with her eyes still closed, feeling the tingle of warmth extend to her arms and legs. The sprouting grass kept growing, bringing small sparkles into the world as they finished. A few daisies burst through in the new grass and more sparkles burst as they bloomed, making the patch of mud look more like the woodland ground around them.

Markus noticed Nox’s magic, smiling softly. He wasn’t sure what it was, though she’d find out with time. It could be a lot -from being able to make small plants grow, to changing the state of time of something.

He was curious to see her reaction to her magic though. He hoped she’d be happy with it -he knew people often were disappointed with their magic at first.

“No.”, Markus replied softly. “You have magic, just like everyone you know. And you can free it, if you want to.”, he told her, smiling softly.

“It’s not very hard. Focus on yourself. You told me you always had a feeling the world was hiding something, right? Focus on that feeling. I’m sure you’ll be able to feel the magic pulse through you, along with your heartbeat. I can’t tell you how exactly to free it, but you’ll figure it out.”.

Nox knew the place where she wanted to go to try and do what Markus said.

“Can we go this way?” She asked, politely. “The stream runs down a foot high waterfall and the sound is very soothing. It’s the most peaceful place in this woodland. I can concentrate there” she bagan to wonder what magic she had.

“Alright.”, Markus smiled and nodded. He followed Nox’s lead, soon able to hear the waterfall in the distance, following its sound.

He was curious as to what Nox would be able to do as well. It could be pretty much anything, and it’d be unique to her. Only she would be able to do it like this,
