As the remaining two groups arrived Enyo stood in plain sight, arms crossed. He had checked anywhere he thought someone could be smuggled, splitting a few barrels just to cause a slight delay. He would fix what he had done wrong if he was wrong but at this moment the only abnormality he knew if was a foreign ship. So it was a clear place for investigation.
“Ah, gentlemen!” He called as a few started to board the ship. “You appear to have been missed during searches. Being on our land requires specific landmarks to be checked. Which you appear to have failed at complying to. I’m simply here to change the wrongs to a right, that is if you’ll allow me to check the cargo of course.” Enyo had never oozed confidence like this before. He knew if he didn’t hold himself high they would disregard him.
“A simple check for violations, smuggled supplies and the sorts. And with the disappearance of our King-” he lauded looking towards the castle. “We must make sure you don’t get dragged into affiliation. Foreign ships don’t dock often.”
The captain walked forward, towards Enyo, the rest of the crew not bothered by his presence as they unloaded the cart, to begin loading it onto the ship.
“We be a simple tradin’ ship, ye see.”, the captain told Enyo. “Th’ kingdom o’ Plaire trades spices wit’ here grown fruits ‘n vegetables.”. It wasn’t even a lie, though never had this crew before been here. Not that anyone would know.
“We know wha’ be required t’ be here, ‘n we know ye jus’ suspect us o’ havin’ kidnapped yer king. But we only laid anker here two days ago, ‘n had heard o’ th’ news afore comin’ here in Plaire. I reckon ye be pullin’ me leg, lad.”, the captain was clearly not up for Enyo’s lies, and technically, the captain hadn’t even really lied up to this point.
The crew was still hard at work readying the ship, unloading the last of unneeded things and getting on what had been brought.
