“Hm.” Enyo eyed the rest of the crew cautiously. “Then you know exactly why I am here and unless you are withholding something that would aid the search, there’s no reason I can not check.” He clicked his tongue watching the barrels be boarded.
“Every rock has been left unturned, bar the content of this ship. See, no one wants trouble and walking onto a mans ship without a warning brings that.” He tapped the back of his hand. “Y’see, our King is our peace maker and with no heir or trace of him, who even controls the towns folk?”
He knew his prior lies had been seen straight through but he didn’t feel worried. He wasn’t leaving without checking, even if it meant someone got hurt.
Even the lightest of magic could be twisted dark.
“I believe ye ‘ave already checked th’ contents o’ th’ ship, if yeâre here already ‘n walkin’ around like ye owns th’ galleon. Go ahead, check wha’ cargo isn’ loaded yet. Ye will nah find a trace o’ yer king, as we ‘ave had naught t’ do wit’ it.”, the captain shrugged, motioning to the unloaded cargo standing there. Boxes of fruit and vegetables, barrels full of water, sacks with seeds and wheat.
It was hard to tell if anything had been taken from the pile already or hadn’t, as empty things were placed barely next to it to be loaded onto the cart again.
