“It’s okay.”, Elvin said and smiled softly. He could tell the other had just tried to help, though may hadn’t had the best idea for it.
“Are you okay?”, he asked then, not bothered at all by the other’s strange appearance. Elvin had branches growing out of his head, so who was he to judge anyone else?

Elvin frowned, gently laying a hand onto Agnes’ back.
“I’m sorry for that.”, he said softly. He couldn’t imagine how that must be like. He had lost friends before too, but only ever animals, and nothing… well, nothing like what happened to Agnes. He couldn’t understand even though he’d like to.

Elvin smiled, shifting to put his weight on his hands, leaning back, and looking up at the sky. It was a normal sight for him, seeing it every night he didn’t spend somewhere else in the forest. But he loved it, like he loved his forest, and everyone in it.
He was content sitting here with Agnes, looking up at the stars. It was nice, to just be with someone else.
Agnes hums softly and looks the stars over. “Ah, there’s Cancer.” She points out the stars that make the crab. “And…Leo.” She chuckles softly.
“Ah, there’s Hydra.” She was having a lot of fun pointing out the stars. “And…There’s Aiko.” She points to one star in particular, then sighs. “I miss her…”
Elvin curiously watched, looking at the pictures she was pointing out. He hadn’t known humans had named them! He had made a lot on his own, he wondered if some of them matched. Well, some of the ones she had pointed out he had seen before as well!
“Aiko? Who’s that?”, he asked, curiously looking at Agnes.

The further they walked into the forest, the denser it got. The forest protected its heart, some sort of magical charm leading everyone in circles around the clearing that was in the heart of the forest. It protected Elvin, and the tree that was his lifeline. Or maybe he protected it. It was hard to say, as Elvin was the forest, and the forest was Elvin.
Elvin wasn’t there anymore. He had needed to go somewhere else, though a bird had already informed him of the hurt bunny as well. He needed to tend to some deer though, who needed him more. The bunny was frightened, but not severely hurt. He’d make sure to go to it next, though.
the bunny shrieked when the figure touched it, causing them to stumble backwards in shock. their nails grew into claws from the sudden panic, triggering their defensive mode. gripping the hoodie that covered his heart, they forced themselves to calm down. it took a minute or two, but they managed to relax. the bunny however, was still shrieking. the figure tackled it, their claws closing on the bunny’s throat-not cutting off the air supply- as they pulled the briar off with its teeth. they held down the bunny with both hands. during this, the bunny tried screaming louder. few thorns stayed on the bunny, in which the creature had no trouble pulled the thorns out carefully. the bunny’s screams ceased, the visitor sitting back and holding the bunny tight. the claws slowly returned to normal as they stroked the rabbits head.
Elvin flinched, feeling the rabbits panic when it started. More worried now, he quickly finished his business with the deer, before fazing through the trees and to where the bunny was, quickly hearing its sounds.
“What are you doing?”, he asked, seeing the figure holding the bunny. They weren’t hurting it, that much Elvin could tell. But it still didn’t look good, even when the bunny quietened down again.
“Please let my friend go.”, panic could kill a bunny, and Elvin was just glad this one had survived this all.

Elvin happily walked with Agnes, plopping down on the ground next to her.
“Tell me if you get cold, okay?”, he told her, smiling. He knew humans could get cold, and the forest could get rather cold in the night as well. So he wanted to make sure she wouldn’t be cold.Agnes nods. “Alright, I will. Thank you.” She hums softly. “The sunset is so pretty…” She sighs happily.
She shivers slightly as it gets dark. She looks back down at the ground. “Ah, I’m cold already.” She chuckles.
Elvin giggled softly. He carefully undid the pin on his greek chlamy, pulling the actually rather heavy cloth from around his shoulders and draped it over Agnes’ shoulder with a smile.
“There we go. I hope it’ll keep you warm.”, he said, pinning the pin to his shirt instead. His clothes were rather simple, though the vest he wore over his shirt was a dark green, with some golden roses embroidered on it, like on the edges of the cloth he had given Agnes.

The forest guardian
The towns surrounding the forest all knew of it. Something was living inside of it, and it wasn’t human. Some believed it to be a deity of the forest, some believed it to be the forest’s very soul embodied. Some just thought it was a myth. A lot of them, if not most, respected the forest and treated it well. They believed whoever didn’t would be cursed.
Some wood cutters reported pained screams when they tried to cut down a tree. That animals would try to attack them until they left. They said the forest grew darker, seemed denser. Animals looked at them with murderous intends. They never stepped back into the forest.
Some children say that they got lost in the forest, but some animals lead them out of it again. Some say they saw a person smiling at them. A few even claimed they had talked to this person, who had branches like a tree growing out of their head.
The forest was sacred to many. People prayed to whatever spirit lived in it, and in return received its blessings. Or so they say. A lot of people offer little gifts to the forest, which they say are always gone when they look again. People ask the forest for advice, for help, and often will receive an answer.
The forest was breathing with life, thriving. Leafs green in the sun, birds singing their songs, animals living in peace. It was a wonderful place, through which many traveled safely.
during mid-day, the local police station were receiving reports about a figure dressed in all black that seemed to have magical qualities about them. they were also given information about how this creature had vibrant, purple hair and starless night skin. while this creature did not phase the police, the fact that they were armed did alarm them.
passing it off that the monster had some “business” to take care of, the police told the people not to worry.leaves from the trees above casted shadows on the figure that had entered the forest. they could hear the forest warning its residents that something new had arrived. the creature moved around any animals or plants, not wanting to bother the peaceful atmosphere. they continued their journey onwards, features still hidden by a black hoodie.
Elvin was aware when someone new came into the forest. He felt their presence, though he didn’t mind. They didn’t feel like they had bad intentions, and the animals kept watch on them. If something would happen, he’d either feel it, or the birds would come tell him.
There was no need to fear the newcomer, at least for now. Elvin believed nothing bad happened.

“I love people coming into the forest. I don’t really show myself to them unless I have to, but it’s nice to watch them and make sure they’re safe.”, Elvin hummed, smiling. He loved every living thing a lot, and he was always very happy to see people enjoy his forest too.
“Oh! It’s going to be dark soon, we can watch the stars together!”, he smiled brightly, happy.
Agnes nods and smiles. “Watching people is intriguing. You learn a lot about them based on a lot of things they do.” She giggles softly.
“Oh, yes! That’s why I came a bit late. I wanted to see the stars with you.” She blushes lightly. “Oh, jeez, that sounds bad…”
“Bad? It sounds wonderful!”, Elvin didn’t know a lot about humans and what they did, except the occasional people that came through and what they did of course.
“I would love to watch the stars with you.”, he hummed, smiling happily.
