* German and English are similar. Many words in German sound or look the same as equivalent English words, because the 2 languages share the same “grandparent.”
* The German-speaking world has produced some of the most revered filmmakers of the 20th century – from Fritz Lang to Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Wim Wenders, and a generation of transnational directors such as Tom Tykwer and Fatih Akin. But these days it’s also the language of choice for writers, filmmakers, and thinkers from a wide array of cultural backgrounds, such as Yoko Tawada, Zsuzsanna Gahse, Terézia Mora, Michael Stavarič, and Melinda Nadj Abonji. German isn’t just for “Germans” any more (but actually it never was).

I think I figured out how to stop the obnoxious notification spam that has been telling me “[name] mentioned you” every time somebody reblogs a post I was ever tagged in, even if they never mention me in THEIR reblog!
1. Go to Account, the little person head and shoulders in upper right.
2. Go to Settings, with the gear icon.
3. Uncheck the new “conversational notifications” switch.
okay but i legit thought my tumblr was glitching b l e s s
what about when someone reblogs your post and you get two notifications- one saying they reblogged it and another saying they commented on it ? Has that been happening to anyone else?
Does anyone else have the problem that this off switch doesn’t show up? Idk if it’s a Europe thing or just random but I really wish I could switch it off already! 😦
Yeah I dunno if this is some fancier version of tumblr but at least on my laptop my notifications settings doesn’t have nearly a many options as these screencaps suggest it should
same here ^
I still don’t have those options in both desktop and mobile, but to those that do, go ahead and turn them off!
An integral part of the pet play dynamic is the use of rules. These rules do
not exist to restrict or frustrate the pet in any way; rather, they are
intended to be regular reminders of the pet play dynamic, and to change the way
the pet thinks so that, with time, they become conditioned.
Popular pet play rules are almost identical to conventional
master/slave and dominant/submissive rules. Most of the time, not all of these
rules are implemented. Here are some popular examples of rules and
rituals a dom may implement:
No masturbation
without permission
No undergarments (when
required)
No saying ‘no’ (not
recommended, as this treads in TPE territory and requires you to consensually
give up consent in nonsexual situations; it is extremely intense)
Posture rules (sitting
up straight, sitting on knees with hands open when directed)
Wearing a day collar
Adhering to hand
signals such as ‘stop’, ‘quiet’, and ‘down’
Bathroom restrictions
(no going without permission)
Eating restrictions
(not eating certain foods, or not eating certain foods after a certain time
such as ‘no dessert after 9:00pm’, often to prevent nightmares)
Thought restrictions (no thinking about x, only think about y etc)
Using honorifics such
as ‘master’
Using unconventional
grammar such as addressing one’s self with lowercase letters as in ‘i’ or
‘kitten’
Referring to one’s
self in the third person such as ‘this kitten’
Exercise requirements
Weekly reflective
journaling or blogging
Servitude in some way
(sexual, chores, secretarial duties)
For further information on rules, rituals, and protocol, I absolutely recommend checking out the Miss Abernathy Omnibus. I guarantee that it’s the best $10 you’ll spend this week.
