Markus was bathing in the sun, letting his wings soak in them. He was comfortable, enjoying being lazy. He often acted as a kind of bee for the flowers as well, since a lot of pollen got stuck to him whenever he crawled into the blossoms of flowers.
He looked up when he could feel some pollen land on him, curious what was on a higher flower. He could see the magic of another fairy.
“Hello”, he greeted with a smile.

Markus came back after some time, settling down on a flower next to where Oliver was.
“Thank you for helping!”, he chirped, happy. There wasn’t much to be done, Markus hadn’t had to do much either. But he was still glad Oliver had come here to help him out!

“We can go see how the flowers are! I’ll ask them if they need something, and tell you.”, Markus replied with a smile, giggling softly. “You can always pollinate them, if you like! I don’t get to spread their pollen a lot, though I try to do as much as I can.”.

Since he couldn’t see normal like Oliver, he didn’t really notice what he was doing. Not that the other fairy would know, of course. Markus led Oliver to some specific flowers then, softly talking to them to see if Oliver could help.

Oliver nodded. That seemed simple enough, since Markus was clearly willing to translate for him. “I visited a few flowers before coming here. I’m not as covered in pollen as I was yesterday, but it should be enough.”

Not counting his own, at least. The next season was approaching, the season that Oliver was born on. Soon he would have to leave his own hive in search of another. It was how things worked.

“It’s fine! Thank you!”, Markus chirped happily. He landed on a flower, asking softly how it was doing today, and if he could do anything for it. Listening quietly to it, he smiled softly.

“Could you give the flower some love? Just talking to it a little. Its lonely, and would like to know about other places a little!”, he told Oliver then, fluttering up. “I’ll go ask the other flowers and come back to you, okay?”.

Host woke with the sunrise, just like everyday. Once awake, he stretched and fluttered his wings. He flew up then, looking around for a moment before going to a flower. Speaking softly to it as he crawled into the blossom, so he could get its nectar as breakfast. He’d get some morning dew too, if he found some.

Oliver had already eaten before he arrived; even a small amount of honey could keep a fairy like him from getting hungry for a while. He waited for Host to arrive, if he would. His gloves, however used to them he was, were more uncomfortable that day. It wasn’t exactly right for him to take them off, though.

He recognised a familiar figure flying overhead. Impulsively, he took to the air again to meet him. “Hello, uhm, again! I hope you don’t mind that I’m back so soon.”, he greeted, hoping that he hadn’t interrupted something important.

Markus made a soft surprised sound, but smiled when he saw Oliver again.
“Hello again! It really doesn’t bother me!”, he replied and giggled softly. He hadn’t expected Oliver to come back so soon, but he really didn’t mind either.

“I was just going to check up on some flowers today! Some were a little sick and unhappy, and even I can only do so much! So I wanted to check on them.”, he told Oliver, fluttering in the air with the other fairy.

“That sounds great! Thank you!”, Markus smiled brightly, very happy. He could use some help. Normally he spend more than half of his day just going through the flowers, talking with them, getting nectar and spreading their pollen. The rest of the day was spend making sure there were no weeds growing in and around his field, and no weed fairies in sight. He didn’t feel like getting his magic sucked out of him after all.

“I can’t talk to the flowers like you would, but I can do just about anything else.”, he said, eager to begin whenever he could. He had a zeal for work that a lot of fairies wouldn’t have; a fairy of his kind almost had to possess that particular quality for the betterment of their colony.

Oliver glanced up at the sky when he noticed the dimming light. “I should get back. I don’t want the others to think that I was caught or anything.”, he hovered in the air for a moment before waving to Markus as he flew away.

“Alright. Come back again soon!”, Markus smiled and waved at Oliver as he left. He was beginning to get tired too, now with the sun slowly setting. He fluttered into the air and went to one of the flowers with bigger blossoms, to curl up in its middle and let its petals close around him to sleep until morning came.

“Ooh!”, Markus nodded. That was cool! He never really searched for fairy rings, though he knew some in the forest. He wasn’t too fond of most forest fairies though, they weren’t always the nicest.

“I wouldn’t mind if you came to my field sometimes. Taking care of it all by myself is pretty hard, since it is somewhat big for just me.”.

“I would be very happy about that!”, Markus chirped, very happy. He would love to meet Oliver more often, he was incredibly curious about the other!

“Since you don’t live too far away, we can meet lots!”.

Oliver entertained the idea of visiting him often. He seemed like better company than the other fairies of his kind. The field fairy liked being around him so far and he loved that Markus felt the same.

“You can ask me anything you want then. I’ve asked you more than enough.”, he said, standing up and letting his wings flutter a little.

“Oh! I don’t mind questions!”, Markus replied and giggled softly, looking up to the other. They weren’t that much different in height.

“You’re a field fairy, right? What do you do?”, he asked then, curious. He didn’t know a whole lot about different fairy kinds, other than that they existed.
