Oliver’s hive was incredibly small. His specific type of field fairy resided in groups built for survival. But they had to fly away from their territory for food or to mate with other fairies outside of their group. He landed on a flower, covered in pollen, tired from flying so far. [ @googleoliver ]

Markus was bathing in the sun, letting his wings soak in them. He was comfortable, enjoying being lazy. He often acted as a kind of bee for the flowers as well, since a lot of pollen got stuck to him whenever he crawled into the blossoms of flowers.
He looked up when he could feel some pollen land on him, curious what was on a higher flower. He could see the magic of another fairy.
“Hello”, he greeted with a smile.

It was rather obvious that he was gazing at him. He rested his head against his arms, perfectly content with where he was and who he was with. Why wouldn’t he be? The other fairy was nice to look at.

Oliver hummed softly to himself, the sound clearly audible. He took off his lace gloves for a few moments, tapping his fingers on the stone while cleaning the golden – yellow pollen from the inside. The pollen wouldn’t have any effects if it was in the water.

Markus would normally be content looking at Oliver too -even though he couldn’t see a lot anyways- but he didn’t want to have his back turned to the main stream of the water. It may not be a big or strong stream, but he couldn’t exactly swim.

So he was content sitting in the water, knees pulled close to his chest and resting his head atop.

“Okay!”, Markus chirped happily, smiling. He kept washing himself then, careful that his wings didn’t get wet. He didn’t fancy being unable to fly a lot.

After a while he stood up and went to grab his clothes, carefully washing them to get the pollen off.

Oliver climbed back onto the stone, fluttering his wings to dry them off a little. He rested on his stomach, letting the sun warm his back and wings while he watched Markus with a gentle smile. There wasn’t any particular reason to be there but he loved being there nonetheless.

Markus laid his clothes out to dry once he was done washing them, humming as he worked. He stayed in the water, enjoying it a lot. He was just like a flower in some regards, which explained why he enjoyed being in the water like this.

He did check to make sure Oliver was still around, since he had noticed he had left the water, but didn’t mind that his friend was resting and drying.

Oliver rested on his back in the water, humming softly. It was relaxing, he had to admit. He stood back up for a moment when he heard Markus’s comment. Had he heard that correctly? It made him a little flustered, although it was only a small comment. “Oh… are you sure about that?”

“Sure! Why would I mind?”, Markus asked, tilting his head. Maybe it was a flower fairy thing? They did mate in groups after all, so it wasn’t surprising Markus wasn’t bothered being more or less naked around others.

“Do you mind? I’m sorry I didn’t ask!”.

Markus sat down, letting the water rush around his hips and lower body, barely reaching his belly. It was nice, and refreshing, and he liked it a lot.

“I don’t mind if you want to leave at any time, by the way.”, he spoke up then, looking to Oliver. “Pretty sure it’s boring watching me wash myself and my clothes.”, he said and giggled softly. He saw no reason to have any shame in being half naked, why would he?

“I-I wasn’t watching you.”, he smiled at him. If he hadn’t been watching him then – which he hadn’t – he was now. He considered his options for a moment before pulling off his shirt and trousers and getting into the water with Markus. It was incredibly cold. “Is this better than leaving me to be bored?”, he said, his smile becoming a grin.

Markus laughed softly when Oliver joined him, giggling as he nodded.
“This is a lot better.”, he replied, and carefully began washing himself then. “I wouldn’t have minded if you just watched me either though.”, he hummed with a smile.

“Do you want to come with me, get washed up?”, Markus asked then, curious. Oliver had just wanted to stretch his wings after all, and they could fly over there together! It was just a small stream nearby, something safe enough for the fairy to bathe in to get cleaned up. He didn’t do so very often, which explained why his clothes seemed a little more dirty than they should be.

Oliver wasn’t covered in pollen yet. That would happen later, when he got around to pollinating some flowers. He didn’t particularly want to say no to Markus’s offer, though; he wanted to spent time with him. Perhaps it wouldn’t be too bad. “Okay.”, he responded, taking his hand without asking for it.

Markus smiled and nodded, squeezing Oliver’s hand gently. He flew with Oliver then, leading his friend to the small stream, where he let go of Oliver’s hand and landed on the ground. He pulled off his coat, his colorful vest for once on proper display, though he took that off too, pulling off his shoes and pants, before walking into the edge of the water.

Markus was glad Oliver didn’t mind. Yawning, feeling safe and comfortable with Oliver here with him, and falling asleep easily.

He slept as peacefully as ever, comfortable with Oliver here, even if he wasn’t used to sleeping on hard surfaces like this wood. It didn’t bother him though, and he was glad to wake up with Oliver here with him.

“If you leave, I’ll fly home with you. Don’t want any humans… y’know…”, he told him, not leaving room for negotiation. He wanted Markus to be safe and thought that perhaps staying with him would help. Oliver was still frightened of a human taking away his new friend as they had taken away others, but tiredness had started to take it’s toll on him.

“We’ll stay here for tonight. The human probably won’t stay here.”, Markus said softly. He didn’t want to worry Oliver further, and he didn’t mind staying here for a night. It was fine, and he was comfortable enough to sleep here. Especially since Oliver was here with him.

He rubbed his eyes, cuddling into Oliver’s side. He was comfortable here with him.

“It’s okay. It’s understandable.”, Markus replied softly. He leaned against Oliver lightly, closing his eyes.
“We’re safe here. And once the human is gone, we can go out again, and go about our day.”, he said softly, hoping to help Oliver keep calm.

Oliver relaxed as Markus spoke. His voice was so calming to him, so comforting. Even if he didn’t know him incredibly well. He would have to go back to his hive, if the human left before nightfall.

“Okay… thank you for being here…”, he mumbled, resting his head on top of Markus’s.

“Of course. You’re my friend.”, Markus said softly, smiling. He was glad Oliver was glad he was here, and trusted him. it was really nice. He shifted a little, not bothered by Oliver’s closeness, though he was growing a little tired. The sun must be setting soon.
