Markus was bathing in the sun, letting his wings soak in them. He was comfortable, enjoying being lazy. He often acted as a kind of bee for the flowers as well, since a lot of pollen got stuck to him whenever he crawled into the blossoms of flowers.
He looked up when he could feel some pollen land on him, curious what was on a higher flower. He could see the magic of another fairy.
“Hello”, he greeted with a smile.
“Oh.”, Markus nodded lightly. Feeling the coat, he smiled softly, standing up to pull it on. He felt a lot better with it on.
“You can just mate like that with every fairy?”, he asked, curious. With any fairy who chose to bear children, he supposed. He would guess flower fairies would be more or less common to mate with then, since their way of mating also was kind of like exchanging pollen. Though flower fairies just produced them naturally on their skin, but only really notable when in heat.
Oliver nodded. It was rather common for field fairies to inter – breed, almost as much as flower fairies, but fae of Oliver’s specific species didn’t do so often. They stuck to themselves; there definitely was enough of them to do that without any issues.
“Yes, and it goes both ways. I could either have their children or they could have mine. We’re… adaptable, in that way.”, he murmured, a hint of yellow dusting spreading over his face. “Why do you ask? J-just… curious?”
“Mostly!”, Markus replied with a smile and nodded. “Flower fairies don’t tend to mate with other kinds, as far as I know. Since we excrete pollen during our heats, and need those to mate. But I guess we could mate too, in this case.”, he explained, smile soft. He wouldn’t mind mating with Oliver, though he wasn’t aware how Oliver’s kind treated mating. He wouldn’t think for life, since not many fairy kinds did, but he didn’t know.
“Maybe the human wants us to mate?”, he wondered quietly. The human probably didn’t know what kind Markus was, but must think a rare one, because of his wings. Who knew?
