Markus was bathing in the sun, letting his wings soak in them. He was comfortable, enjoying being lazy. He often acted as a kind of bee for the flowers as well, since a lot of pollen got stuck to him whenever he crawled into the blossoms of flowers.
He looked up when he could feel some pollen land on him, curious what was on a higher flower. He could see the magic of another fairy.
“Hello”, he greeted with a smile.

“Mh..”, Markus hummed, thinking. “I did.”, he answered then, trying to remember the times he had mated with another kind, and how that had worked.
“We flower fairies are pretty adaptable for mating. I was with a lake fairy once, and they mate partially underwater! We can handle water pretty well, except for our wings, so that was no problem.”, he couldn’t exactly remember the actual mating though.

“I do remember I was with a forest fairy once too…”, he mumbled, though he couldn’t really remember a lot from that either.
“Everyone just always kind of knew what to do. I never got taught how our kind’s mating works either and was able to figure it out.”, though he had been surrounded by other flower fairies at the time, of course.

Oliver knew what to do, he had simply never been with a fae like Markus before. Bee fairies were relatively casual when it came to mating. He didn’t want to leave Markus with nothing in return for his help.

“Do you produce pollen everywhere, or is there a specific place?”, he asked, tilting his head.

“Pretty much everywhere!”, Markus replied, scratching his cheek with a finger.
“Though we don’t produce a whole lot outside of our heat. But we still absorb pollen.”, since their day to day life left them covered in pollen quite a lot, whatever got on their skin could be absorbed and used as a weak magic fuel. Absorbed just like a human absorbed lotion into their skin.

Markus was surprised by the kiss, and he couldn’t really do anything as Oliver already pulled back again. He smiled softly at Oliver and cut him off by kissing him again. Soft and sweet, noticing Oliver’s smell of honey.

“It’s okay.”, he said softly, smiling. He knew Oliver’s heat must be coming up.

Oliver closed his eyes as he kissed him back, holding onto Markus closely. He hadn’t expected Markus to kiss him but he liked it a lot. He whined softly when he pulled away again.

“… I don’t know what to do.”, he admitted, loosening his grip on him, “But it hurts.”

“I don’t know either.”, Markus replied softly. “Usually flower fairies absorb pollen in their heat, through kisses and touches.”, he mumbled. He knew Oliver produced pollen from his hands, so no matter what, it must have to do with that.

“Just do what feels right?”, he suggested softly. It was mostly an instinct, wasn’t it? To mate, and know how to.

“Can I help you?”, Markus asked softly, worried. He wanted to help, in any way he could, especially since Oliver wasn’t feeling good.

“I’ll always be here, as long as no one takes me away.”, he said quietly. He wouldn’t leave Oliver, he’d much rather stay here with him and take care of him.

“I won’t let them take you away from me.”, he murmured, gently pressing his lips against his jaw. It was a somewhat hesitant, sweet gesture, only a test to see if Markus would mind the affection from him. He was even more hesitant to ask for any help.

Markus was surprised by the kiss, but he smiled and nuzzled his nose against Oliver’s, before pressing a soft little kiss to its tip.
“Thank you.”, he said softly. He didn’t want to be taken away either, and he would be really happy if he would manage to stay with Oliver.

Eventually, Oliver made himself stop moving and tried to focus on the warmth of Markus instead. While he was so close, he could faintly smell flowers on his friend’s skin. It was difficult for him to tell, but Oliver was beginning to smell sweeter, like honey. He whined quietly to nobody in particular, hoping that Markus would wake up soon.

Oliver managed to slip in and out of sleep until sunrise. He looked as if he had barely slept at all. The pollen on his fingertips glowed faintly. “M-morning…”, he said softly, trying to avoid how uncomfortable he was.

Markus woke up feeling a tad uncomfortable, not liking sleeping on a hard surface like this a lot. But he felt Oliver’s warmth, which was nice.
“Morning.”, he replied softly. He could tell something was a little different, able to see Oliver’s magic, but didn’t know what.

“How are you?”, he asked softly, even though he had just woke up.

“Let’s rest.”, he agreed softly then, nodding lightly. He was getting tired.

Oliver fell asleep quickly, cuddled up to Markus as if he would never get the chance to again. His dreams were filled with thoughts of their potential future. Maybe he would never have to leave and they could start their own hive instead.

He woke up in the night, suddenly uncomfortable despite being so relaxed earlier. He squirmed and shifted around a little, trying not to disturb Markus while he rested.

Markus was fast asleep, holding Oliver lightly in his arms, curled up around him a little. He had some time laid down and pulled Oliver with him, but never had let go.

It was pretty unlikely for him to wake up, even if Oliver were to squirm out of his arms. It was hard to wake him when he was supposed to sleep.

“That’s perfectly fine.”, Markus replied with a smile. He moved to be behind Oliver, wrapping his arms around the other and holding him close. He was very happy to be able to hold him.

“I’m very glad we’re not by ourselves.”, he murmured. He would be a lot more scared if he were alone here, or if he was still free but Oliver was gone.

Oliver made a soft humming sound, somewhat similar to a purr, when he felt Markus’s arms around him. He turned so that he was facing him before nuzzling against his chest. He didn’t particularly care too much about the pollen any more.

“Me too.”, he responded with a smile, gazing up at him with bright but tired eyes.

Markus smiled, happy. He nuzzled against Oliver’s hair, trilling softly, happy to be here with him. And not to be alone, or feeling guilty about being free but Oliver being caught.

“The sun must set soon.”, he mumbled softly, feeling a little tired. He had no clue how much time had passed from getting caught to being brought here.
