“Ah- n-no- it’s- it’s okay!”, Markus looked up to her when she stood up. “I- I don’t.. I don’t mind, really.”, he said quieter. No one ever was interested in what he was reading -he was barely allowed to read normally. He would like it if she wanted to hear the story of the book.
Agnes smiles and sits back down. “Are you sure? I would love to hear you tell me the story.” She hums softly. “Maybe I could repay the favour later.”
“I’m sure..”, Markus replied softly and nodded. He was very sure, he really wanted to read for Agnes.
So he shifted until he sat cross-legged, and moved back to the first page of the book. He didn’t mind starting over.
So he carefully and softly began reading. After a few pages he seemed to get more confident in it, less quiet and stuttering less.
