Forest deity

“Why shouldn’t I have it?”, Elvin curiously looked at the pin, the two overlapping leafs of gold and silver. He liked it, just like the faint dark golden roses stitched into the edges of his greek chlamy.

“Ah. I suppose because I’m a tree spirit.”, he replied and giggled lightly. “Though I’ve grown more into a whole forest than just a single tree.”, he hummed. A whole forest deity after hundreds of years.

Agnes stared in disbelief. “You…Huh?” She was glad she had been so polite earlier. “Are you the forest deity everyone talks about?”

She was curious to know. It’s not every day you get to meet a god, and this one seemed to be kind and benevolent as well. What an amazing experience.

“I suppose so! I don’t know how many people talk about me, but I’m pretty sure the surrounding villages all know about me.”, he replied with a smile, nodding. He had watched those villages grow over the hundreds of years he and his tree were alive, doing his best to help them and keep his forest safe.
