Forest deity

“Well I’m named after the forest, not the other way around. Technically I have no name on my own, I just share it with the forest.”, Elvin started replying, not minding it in the slightest. He could understand Agnes had a lot of questions.
“I felt you were in the forest. And the birds usually help me know where exactly someone is if they need help. The snake didn’t hurt you, since the forest is calm. It’s safe. I protect everyone within it, be it animal or human. Only people with bad intentions befalls misfortune.”.

He wouldn’t have let Agnes get hurt, and if another animal would’ve had to take the snake away.

Agnes nods along to all this information. “So, you’re basically the personification of the forest? Can you leave?” He didn’t seem to know much about the world outside when they first met. “It’d be unfortunate if you couldn’t…”

She didn’t think she could live here on her own, living off the land. Not with what she knew about outside the forest.

“I wouldn’t say personification of the forest. I did start as a normal tree spirit, bound to just a single tree. But the larger the forest grew, the more protective I got of it. It just kind of happened that I’m connected to the whole forest now. I’m the forest, and the forest is me.”, Elvin explained. He still had his tree, the only tree that would be able to seriously injure or even kill him if it was damaged.

“I can’t leave the forest. I’m bound to it. In the past, I hadn’t even been able to go further but a few steps from my tree.”, he chuckled lightly. “As curious as I am about the outside world, I’m content in my forest.”.
