Markus chuckled softly, smiling as he took the bag and pulled out a candy to eat as well. He liked candy, and he was glad Nox was sharing with him. Not that he would’ve minded if she hadn’t though.
Markus had stayed in this inn a few times before, greeting the inn keeper with a smile and a little wave. They just needed to stay the night, since they’d be leaving again in the morning. To the next town, a little bigger than this, and surely taking most of the day to get to. There was an easy way to get to the capital there as well.
The bed felt soft under Nox as she settled down for the night. She sighed in content.
“Gods this feels nice” she said as she fluffed up her pillow. Her bear nuzzled into her side and settled down too.
She looked over to Markus and smiled softly.
“Thank you for today, Markus. If this is a small place compared to yours and still has wonderful people then I can’t wait to see your home soon”
Markus chuckled softly, settling down on a bed as well.
“I’m glad. The difference is like night and day.”, he hummed. Even when just out on fields, it just felt different from Nox’s home.
The next day they spend traveling again, and Markus told Nox about the unique way to get to the capital. They wouldn’t have to go there like they were traveling now, but there was a person who could make some sort of “connection points”. It was a weird experience, considering you could go from one place to another without trouble like that.
