“Oh.”, Markus chuckled lightly and nodded. He gently nudged the plush on his lap -not really resembling a specific animal in particular, but having the body of a cat, more or less, but bunny ears. It was hard to describe.

“Of course you can.”, he replied with a smile, and the plush stood from Markus’ lap to instead jump over to Nox, nudging against her.

“It’s my magic!”, the child proclaimed proudly, smiling widely. Their little plant was a small bush as it seemed, growing slowly but surely.

The image of the plant evaporated then, the child giggling and running off to continue playing.

Markus chuckled softly, smiling. “I knew you’d enjoy it here.”, he hummed, watching Nox with closed eyes. He was glad she was enjoying herself.

Nox watched as the child ran to catch up with their friends.

“I don’t think I ever want to leave this place” Her heart could have burst with joy at the thought of being surrounded with people who weren’t afraid to show their magic. She wanted to try hers again and glanced at a stall selling flowers. Since it was the evening, a few were wilting. Nox went up to the stall holder and took one of the dull flowers that.

“Could I-” she hesitated a little but remembered the pride of the child’s face and was emboldened “could I try something?”

“Of course young lady!”, the owner replied with a chuckle and smile. A lot of people encouraged people to use their magic, get used to it and learn more about it. It wasn’t unusual to see children and young adults practicing their magic somewhere. Depending on what the magic was, of course.

Markus was talked to by a child, enraptured by the plush. He smiled as he talked with them, and decided to give them the plush. “May they be your friend and companion, a protector.”, he spoke, and it jumped onto the child’s shoulders.

They beamed, happy, and ran off to show their new plush to everyone.
