“It’s not weird at all.”, Markus replied with a soft smile. “May I see what you’re holding for a moment? I’ll give it back shortly.”, he requested then. He wanted to see what magic it was, if he could still get traces of it to make out what it had been ones.
He would love to tell her magic was real, and that she held a growing power inside her self like everyone else did. He could imagine her magic to be smaller than it should be, just from how she was raised. Not embracing it as a part of herself. But with her positive outlook on it, he was sure it would still grow healthily.
Markus was surprised by the hug, but smiled and gently wrapped his arms around her as well.
“It’s sad how your homeland denies the existence of magic. You’re so cut off from the real world. Every human has magic inside of them, and everyone can use it, if they wish to.”, Markus spoke softly, holding Nox gently. If anyone would’ve told him there were people who denied the existence of magic, he wouldn’t have believed it.
“My plush animals come to life, but the magic eventually withers away like the flowers inside of them. No magic lasts forever. It’s why your teddy stopped moving, and feels less plush than before.”.
Nox held onto the man tighter when he said that.
“I’m sorry my countrymen don’t want to see the world for what it is” she mumbled. She looked up at him with regretful eyes. “I think we’d be a lot more at peace if we did”
Her thoughts turned to the bear in her hands. She let go of him and stared at it. “Magic withers? I hope it was happy with me. I certainly was when it danced and even though it doesn’t, I still love it very much. It’s always been with me” she smiled up at him. “Thank you for making it”
“It does. Some magic can be renewed, though mine sadly can’t.”, Markus replied softly, a light smile on his lips. He was glad that a lost plush had made someone so happy.
“Thank you for loving it. I’m very sure your teddy has been very happy.”, he said then. He may have no clue how it had gotten here, but he was certainly glad that she had found it and loved it.
