Initial thoughts and analysis

We see that Wilford’s Powers of jumping through time and space have become more manifest than when it just happened randomly back in the mansion.

WKM is assumed to be taking place in the 1920s. Given the outfit that Wilford had on as well as the patrons and decorations of the club, we can assume the current timeline brings us somewhere in the 1970s.

Abe has no recollection of how long he has been chasing Wilford, he doesn’t even notice that around 50 years have passed.

Wilford made mention of a train incident, saying it hadn’t happened yet and spoilers we all did it. While this is probably just a reference to Murder On The Orient Express, the implication that matters is that Wilford already saw it happen despite it not happening yet.

Wilford has transcended beyond time and space, he recognizes that Abe has to but his obsession with hunting him has blinded him to that fact.

Wilford really does just want to help Abe, even if he is a murderer and has done terrible things.

And realizing all of this broke Abe down to the point where, just for now, none of it mattered
