“I.. I just have to trust the person if they say it’s colourful.”, Markus mumbled, looking away and to the lake again.
“I try to take a picture of it and send it to my brother though. I can trust him to tell me.”, he muttered quietly. He just wasn’t always able to right away. When he got stuck in an abusive relationship, it was hard to just be on his phone without being controlled.

“I haven’t met them yet, so I don’t know how it would feel… just.. hopefully good.”:

She stayed there for nearly an hour longer before leaving to get some lunch. Thiugh she couldn’t help but think of Markus.

Markus spend half an hour more walking around the park, before his phone rang. He sat down to talk with his brother, happy he called a little earlier than usual. Fifteen minutes later he continued walking and making his way to the exit of the park. Being on the phone meant he heard his surroundings a little less, though he usually wasn’t bothered by it.

Markus hummed, but stayed quiet otherwise. He didn’t really have anything more to say.

He stood up after a while, picking up his cane and pulling it out, so he could easily tap the ground. He wasn’t sure if he should say goodbye or not though. Or if she maybe would want to leave too? He wasn’t sure.

She looked to him, “If you’re leaving then have a good rest of your day Markus. I’m probably just gunna stay here a bit longer and enjoy this.” She smiled before closing her eyes once more.

“Ah. Yes, thank you. You too, Jasmine.”, Markus replied, smiling lightly at her. Maybe he’d walk around the park a bit more before he would leave. His brother had said he wanted to call today too, so he expected that. Rather in the evening than the afternoon, but still.

He made his way away from the lake then, cane tapping on the ground. He knew where the path was, and once he noticed he reached it, could easily follow it.

“I haven’t found mine yet. But I dream about the day I do. The colors, the moment, the person? Female or male or whomever. I just hope they’re nice.” She said giving a dreamy sigh. “I can’t wait. I’m 25 and lonely.” She chuckled.

“I hope so too.”, Markus hummed softly. “But they can be anywhere on the world. You could find them when you’ve grown old.”. Many people tried their hardest to find their soulmate, but Markus wasn’t about to force it. His soulmate would find him some day, and they’d touch, and he would hopefully be happy with them.

“You don’t need to be sorry.”, Markus hummed, changing his position a little. Resting his chin on his knees, opening his eyes to look out at the lake. His eyes looked pretty much normal, their colour almost golden in the light.

“How would you have known? You just met me, and I as sitting with my eyes closed.”. And his cane laid on the other side of him, pushed in to not be in anyone’s way.

“Alright.” She saw his eyes and hers widened, “You have beautiful eyes Markus.” The woman was captivated by the golden color. She watched him adjust himself and a light blush came upon her cheeks.

“Thank you.”, Markus smiled lightly towards her. It was pretty much impossible to tell he was blind at first glance like this. He hadn’t always been blind, so it wasn’t too hard for him to face someone when they were nearby and speaking.

“Mh. Kinda.”, Markus replied. He had no clue how the spot of his soulmate must look like, other than cover probably their whole palm and underside of their fingers. There must be a lot of people with black palms. Shaking hands, grabbing someone, high-fiving, so many more things you did with other people as first touch. Even things like slapping someone.

“I just don’t want to be lied to again by someone.”, he murmured. Being blind meant he had to trust the other person when they said their spots turned colorful.

“Lied to? How would someone lie to you?” She asked, “Wouldn’t you see the color?” She looked to him still unaware he was blind.

“I’m blind.”, Markus replied. He didn’t bother facing her, or opening his eyes as he was enjoying the sun -not that he could see much of anything. Some light and dark was all.

He wasn’t very surprised she understood immediately what he had meant, seeing how they were talking about soulmates.

“From time to time.”, Markus replied softly. He did like to go outside, whenever he felt well enough to do so.

“That’s good.” She smiled and laid down, “What a day.” She closed her eyes, she loved the warmth on her face.

Markus stayed quiet then, not too fond of talking with strangers unless he had to, or was spoken to in a friendly matter. It didn’t mean he’d try to hold the conversation up though.
