“I’d be very happy if you did.”, Markus replied quietly. He would love for Oliver to be here with him every night, to hold him and keep him safe. Nothing would make him happier.

After a while longer, Markus felt hungry. He didn’t want to move though, or let go of Oliver.

Markus just hummed softly in reply. He was too comfortable to even talk, he was very happy to be here with Oliver. He couldn’t describe how nice he felt, and how relaxed.

“I never want to leave..”, he muttered. He knew he would have to eventually, and Oliver would have to get up eventually as well, but for now he was just very happy.

“Leave this place, leave the bed, or leave me…?”, he asked softly, adding the last option as an afterthought. It was unlikely to him that Markus would be so attached to him – in this case, literally – after only a few days at most of knowing each other. But there they were, holding onto each other as if they’d known each other for so much longer.

“Mhh… your arms. You.”, Markus replied after a moment of thought. He didn’t look forward to going back to the castle, and back to his old life. He was incredibly glad that he was going to travel with Oliver for a while before he had to go home.

He knew he shouldn’t just trust Oliver this much so fast, but he didn’t much care. He liked Oliver, and he trusted him.

“I’ve never been more comfortable.”, Markus replied and giggled softly. “You’re warm, and I feel safe. Cared about.”, he added quietly, smiling softly. He was very happy, and he didn’t feel the need to hide his feelings for once.

“Thanks for cuddling with me.”, he said softly.

“Oh… that’s new. Uhm, you’re welcome?”, he mumbled, hoping that Markus couldn’t see his face from where he was. That was what he had wanted, wasn’t it? For Markus to feel safe and protected with him, and to be genuinely happy while they travelled? He ran his fingers through Markus’s hair again.

Markus hummed in content when he felt Oliver’s hand, shuddering. That felt really nice, and if he wasn’t relaxed before, he definitely was melted against Oliver now. It just felt really nice.

He could spend all day just laying here with Oliver, if only they didn’t have any needs. Like food and water. For now he was very content though.

“Morning..”, Markus mumbled softly, not noticing the slip-up. He was happy being held close though, happily nuzzling against him and smiling.
“Did you manage to get some sleep?..”, he asked quietly, yawning. He felt somewhat better than the day before, which was nice.

Oliver nodded, unsure whether to sit up or stay where he was. It was quite comfortable to hold onto him. He didn’t want to let go completely, not yet.

“Yes. I hope you feel better today.”, he murmured, still embarrassed even though it seemed like Markus was oblivious to what he had said. “We’re not going anywhere yet, I just want you to get well again…”

Markus smiled softly. “I do feel better than yesterday.”, he murmured. He still didn’t feel well enough to get up and move around though, so staying in bed it definitely was.

“Don’t get up yet please.”, he mumbled quietly, hiding his face against Oliver’s chest. He just liked being close to him, and being held. He had never felt so content before.

Markus was still sleeping when Oliver woke up. Normally he was awakened at sunrise, which prompted him to wake up on his own by now at that time as well, but since he was sick, he slept in.

He was still holding onto Oliver lightly, comfortable in his arms. He liked being snuggled close to him, warm and safe.

Oliver absentmindedly played with Markus’s hair, noting how soft it felt underneath his fingers. He smiled softly down at him. It pleased him that his companion had finally found a way to sleep peacefully with him. That meant a lot to him. If Markus was able to rest well, he could get better and travel for longer.

Markus woke up almost an hour later. He felt comfortable here with Oliver, warm and safe. He could almost forget he was sick, if it weren’t for the constant feeling of weakness and general unwell being.

He nuzzled closer to Oliver, not wanting the other to go. Though he was aware he would need to eventually.

Markus giggled softly. “That’s the nicest compliment I’ve ever gotten.”; he murmured. He was tired. He felt a lot better finally, and he felt safe in Oliver’s arms. He was sure he could sleep again, and he wouldn’t fight falling asleep. He needed to get healthy again after all.

“You’re also great company… and great at cuddling..”, he yawned, nuzzling against Oliver.

“Is it? You should be complimented more often, by people that are much better at it than me.”, he told him, a smile lighting up his face at the giggle. It was an adorable sound. He hummed softly, a tune that he vaguely remembered from somewhere.

Oliver closed his eyes, smiling at the compliment that he had been given. “Get some sleep now, hm…?”

Markus hummed softly, nodding. Sleep sounded good. “You too…”, he mumbled, before he fell asleep a few minutes later. Grip on Oliver’s shirt loose, staying curled up close to Oliver, comfortable against his chest.

He slept a lot better this time, though he still woke up every now and then thanks to his insomnia.
