“No, thank you.”, Markus mumbled. He was getting tired already, being sick was exhausting. He was sure he could easily sleep through most of the days until he felt better.

He yawned, hugging the blanket close to himself as he fell asleep again.

Markus nodded lightly. He continued eating his apple, until only the core was left. He hoped he could just sleep his sickness away, though he knew that still took time. Time he didn’t want to waste just laying in bed, but he had to.

“Thank you for looking after me.”, he told Oliver again. “Don’t feel like you can’t go out while I’m in bed though.”. He wanted at least that Oliver didn’t feel too trapped while they had to stay here.

Oliver didn’t feel as if he couldn’t go out, but he wasn’t certain if he should. He didn’t want Markus to be alone when he woke up. It looked as if Markus took some kind of comfort from his presence, so he didn’t want to ruin that.

“I know. I’m going out later, anyways. I have to.”, he shrugged, finishing off his pear. He had to get food for both of them, as well as anything else they would need.

“Alright.”, Markus nodded lightly. He decided he would just rest for the rest of the day, since here was nothing else he could do. Or should do, at the very least, since staying in bed would make him better the quickest. He couldn’t wait to be able to travel again, though he should really wash up before they did.

“I’m still not convinced there’s nothing waiting for you when you bring me back.”, Markus mumbled, leaning into Oliver’s hand. He was still pretty warm to the touch.
“But it’s okay. I’m happy you want to travel with me anyways.”.

“…so what if there is? I’ll only take you back if or when you want to.”, he answered. His freedom was important to him, certainly, but he was able to go between kingdoms if and when it pleased him. He didn’t intend to stop.

Markus hummed lightly. Since he had no idea what was there for Oliver to get, he couldn’t comment further on it. He didn’t want to either though.
“I hope I’ll be healthy again soon.”, he said instead. Mostly since it would be good for everything.

“I do feel better than I did yesterday already.”, Markus pointed out, smiling lightly. He didn’t feel so sick he could barely speak anymore, which was good. He was sure he’d be fine again soon.

“Sorry it takes so long..”, he mumbled.

“It’s nothing to apologise for. It’s just odd, staying in the same town.”, he shrugged. They had barely made any progress, but at the moment their main focus was for Markus to get better. “I don’t mind taking care of you, even.”

“If you’re sure… I don’t want to be a burden to you.”, Markus mumbled. He really didn’t want to be. He liked Oliver, he was nice and took care of him. He really didn’t want him to dislike him somehow.

“Apples.”, Markus replied, nuzzling into the warmth Oliver had left behind. He knew he should lay still, but he didn’t want to either.

He did finally shift to lay on his back again though, feeling for the cloth that should’ve been on his forehead.

Oliver handed an apple to him before dampening the cloth he managed to find, placing it back on Markus’s forehead. It concerned him that his health wouldn’t improve. Then they would be slower.

“Is there anything I can do for you?”, he offered.

Markus smiled lightly as Oliver helped him, taking the apple.
“I don’t think so.”, he replied softly, biting into the apple. He hummed, it was a good one. He was very glad about that.

“They said it’ll take a few days probably before I get healthy again.”, he told Oliver then, so he would know how long they had to wait.

“I’d be very happy if you did.”, Markus replied quietly. He would love for Oliver to be here with him every night, to hold him and keep him safe. Nothing would make him happier.

After a while longer, Markus felt hungry. He didn’t want to move though, or let go of Oliver.

Oliver continued to stroke his hair, smiling up at him. There were much worse ways to spend a morning. “Then I will.”, he agreed.

He was pulled out of his wistful thoughts by his own stomach. “I have some food in my bag. It’s only fruit, though, nothing special, but it’s good.”

“I like fruits.”, Markus replied quietly, giggling softly. He didn’t think he could stomach anything heavy either, though some fruits should hopefully be okay to eat for him.

He did let go of Oliver so he could get up at the very least, to get his bag.
