“Alright then.”; Markus didn’t want to argue with Oliver. He would be glad for the warmth of Oliver with him, but if he was going to stay awake anyways, then what was he supposed to do?

“I’m really happy we’re finally traveling!”, he said with a bright smile.

His companion’s childlike optimism amused him. There was no reading to argue about things that didn’t matter. If he found himself wanting to share the blanket with Markus, then he could ask.

“The first night isn’t always the best, but… you get used to it. Hey, usually I do this with less money and not much food, so it’s better than what I’m used to. Besides…”, he thought over what he was saying for a moment, “I have you.”

Markus was a little surprised by that, but he smiled brightly and nodded. He was glad he never ate a lot anyways.

“I’m very happy you’re glad I’m here.”, he said, smiling bright and happy. It was nice to be wanted! Even if only a little. He was just glad to not be a burden or something.

“I would believe it will make it warmer.”, Markus replied with a hum. He was pretty used to being in crates and barrels by now, just being able to lay was enough for him. Sure he had had a bed while he had to recover, but he certainly wouldn’t mind just laying on the ground either.

“How cold does it get in the night?”, he asked, curious. Maybe Oliver knew.

“It’s not winter yet, but it does get cooler by night. The blanket will definitely keep you warm.”, he responded. He didn’t care if he became too cold. Usually he had to keep watch, so being asleep wasn’t a priority for him. “You can have it. I don’t need it.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want you to go cold. I’d happily share with you.”, Markus was obviously a worried about Oliver, not wanting him to be cold or anything. Markus did get cold easily, and he appreciated getting a blanket, but he still wanted to make sure Oliver would be alright as well.

Markus smiled brightly when Oliver took his hand, happily holding it and beginning to walk with him again. He was very happy to be with him, and to be able to travel with him. He didn’t think he would have managed on his own. He wouldn’t have taken the chance to travel on his own anyways.

“How far will we go today?”, he asked then, curious.

“As far as you want to go, or as far as we can.”, he shrugged. Unless he was desperate to get away from, or to, a particular place, there hadn’t been a need to set targets. He tended to travel for as long as he wanted. “Would it be better for you if we walked until we reach civilization, or…?”

“I don’t mind if we stay outside!”, Markus replied happily. He may have never done this before, but he wasn’t afraid. Oliver was here, and used to this, and would take care he was safe and everything would be okay. Markus would be fine if they didn’t find another village to stay in today.

Markus face lit up, smiling bright and happy. “Thank you so much, Oliver!”, he was obviously very happy about it. He did indeed love it! He loved flowers, and now he had a crown made out of flowers!
“It’s far better than any other crown I had to wear.”, he told him with a smile.

He happily picked a few flowers, carefully tying them together. He wasn’t sure about flower crowns, but he could twist and tie some flowers together for a ring!
“Here.”, he offered the little flower ring to Oliver with a smile.

He knew that he could have made something much better with more time, but Markus was so excited about the small gift that it made him put the thought out of his mind. Even if Markus did deserve better, he liked what he’d been given.

“It’s nothing special, but you’re welcome.”, he responded. He watched Markus curiously until his friend handed him the ring. His face felt a little warmer. Oliver took it and slipped it onto his finger. “Oh… thank you. You didn’t have to…!”

“I know! But I wanted to make you happy too.”, Markus replied with a smile, giggling softly. He was very happy Oliver seemed to like his gift as well, which was really nice! And it made him really happy Oliver liked his little gift as well.

“Let’s continue on.”, he hummed, holding out his hand for Oliver to take again. He was happy, and he couldn’t think about anything better than this right now. Just being outside with Oliver, being happy together.

Markus was very happy being outside and on a field. He may not be able to see a lot, nor very well, but he could tell how green the grass was, and he could see the flower field ahead as well.

He lot go of Oliver’s hand to happily run ahead, skipping. He twirled around, laughing soft and happily. “Look Oliver! How beautiful the flowers are!”, he called, a bright smile on his face. He was really happy to be up and moving, outside.

He raised an eyebrow, watching him with an amused look on his face. Markus must have been kept in built up areas for a while to have that reaction to seeing flowers. Or perhaps he was genuinely interested in them.

Oliver followed behind him, picking up some of the flowers as he went. He carefully intertwined the flowers together and caught up with Markus, placing the flower crown on his head.

Markus was very happily walking through the flowers, looking over the blur of colours. He loved flowers, and nature, a lot. He loved the garden of his castle and spend a lot of time there, but he never really got to see anything else other than that. And he very much loved to see these wild flowers, even if he could barely make them out.

He was surprised when Oliver set something onto his head, curiously reaching up and touching it.
“What did you make?”, he asked, curious. He could feel flowers. What had Oliver made out of them? He had no idea, but he was very interested.
