Host was out of bandages. He didn’t like it, but somehow he had forgotten to get new ones from the doctor for his coat, so now he didn’t have any more. His bandages were soaked and disgusting, so he had cleaned his face. Forgetting he had no new bandages. He didn’t have anything else to hide his eyes with though, and the little amount of stress caused new bloody tears. He sighed, washing them off before leaving his room. He’d just hurry and hope no one saw.

Edward was actually leaving his office, off to grab some food no doubt and possibly have a break. However he paused when he saw Host coming quickly down the hallway. The main bit catching his attention was the lack of bandages covering what were once eyes. It was very rare to see the bandages missing, which lead him to feeling concerned.

“Host? Are you alright?” He made sure to announce himself, save the other bumping into him or jumping.

Edward chuckled. Shaking his head softly. “I won’t be forced to anytime soon..” Unless Host was Implying he’d force him, in which case he’d be hard pressed to sneak under Hosts nose. “I wouldn’t mind hanging with you more, or coming to listen in person, it sounds like quite the privallage.” Perhaps one day off wouldn’t hurt..just for Host. It wasn’t like he was doing too much asides tending regular patients and filling time consuming paper works. “Its not everyone’s taste. But your voice has always held a pleasing range to it..it engages me.” He admits with a soft shrug. Putting more berry filled delight into his mouth.

“If the Host were to force Edward to take a break, the doctor wouldn’t be able to slip back to work without him noticing. The Host would certainly not let him go to work then.”, Host hummed lightly, chuckling softly.

“The Host is glad Edward considers taking a day off to stay with the Host instead. Maybe they could do something else as well, to let the doctor relax from the stress of work and never taking a break. He would like to do something for once, since he is, too, always cooped up inside. Though Host doesn’t quite enjoy being around people, if it’s crowds.”.

“I’m glad you don’t let it get to you. Though I’m always here if you require anything.” Even if he had told Host before, he always reminded those he considered close that he was here, and not just simply due to his profession.

“Oh good, good.. I’ve been trying to catch a few of your broadcasts. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time to properly listen.” He did try, sometimes at night he’d managed to catch one, listen to Host’s voice that seemed far too right for sharing the stories he had. Edward would listen more if it weren’t for needing the quiet to focus. Really he needed a break, and he had plenty of time off stacking up, but he’d not really felt any urge to take any of it.

“The Host would advise Edward to take a vacation, before he’ll be forced to. The Host wouldn’t mind spending more time with his friend, and would even invite him to his room during a broadcast, if he wishes to listen and watch. The Host is very glad Edward likes his shows, it is nice to know someone does. Not all of the listeners are exceptionally happy if their fate is revealed to them, or changed. Not that Host does that every show, but still.”, Host was falling into his more narrative speaking, except of simply answering or replying. It was nothing he was consciously aware of though, it just happened.

Hosts knowledge of him always caught him just the slightest off guard. Not because he didn’t know how Host knew, but more so because Host bothered to retain such information about him. “The pills simply don’t cut it.” He agreed with the hint of a frown. He simply let exhaustion take him where it may. Sometimes nights were good, others they were simply too empty for him to find comfort in his bed.

Edward nodded, taking his own mouthful of treat as he listened. “Oh, I’m sorry to of assumed they were more similar. Still, I wish you had a way to stop seeing the unfortunate things that I can’t even fathom plagues your head.” He sighed softly. He didnt wish to make Host feel bad. His inner doctor simply wished they had a cure, but at the same time Host probably wouldn’t be Host without his abilities.

“Speaking of, how has your work been going?” He asked after a pause.

“The Host assures Edward it’s okay. It isn’t as bad, having my eyes bandaged. It keeps sight away, though not always sounds. Feelings. It isn’t quite as bad when the Host is with someone else, an anchor to this reality. It can break when he sees, but it’s usually fine.”, Host said and shrugged lightly. He didn’t mind Edward assuming, what else would he have done after all? He hadn’t known after all.

“The Host’s work is going along fine. He writes his shows, and notes, and enjoys broadcasting and recording them.”, he smiled lightly. It was really nice, and Host enjoyed it. It was no wonder he was barely in his room, but rather in his room where he broadcasted.

“The Host would like to remind Edward that tea also contains caffeine, and if done correctly can be just as boosting as coffee.”, Host hummed, never minding what Edward preferred or didn’t. He usually only drank tea for it’s calming effects, and taste.

He did reach for one of the treats, fingers careful as he grabbed one. He smiled lightly at the compliment, thanking Edward softly.

“The Host has been mostly fine. He would feel better if he hadn’t all these visions, though he cannot change how his ” powers" work. He is at least glad he isn’t one of his alternative versions.“, Host replied then, before taking a bite. He hummed at the pleasant taste.

“The Host compliments Edward for the food, and thanks him for making him something. He smiled lightly at the other, glad not to be alone, but in the presence of someone he likes.”

Hosts information made Edward chuckle. “It doesn’t always feel that way when you’re up at four am.” Maybe it was the bitter taste, or just the mindset that he knew it’d perk him up. Either way he loved both drinks in different situations.

“You’re welcome.” He replied, draining more tea from his cup.

“I am also grateful for that. I do wish there was some way to help, train your.. Powers. I suppose you’ve already asked Marvin about any assistance?” Though they didn’t often see that other bunch much, Edward did moreso to his connections with Henrick.

A slight blush lit his cheeks. “I’m happy you like it. I quite enjoy your presence aswell.” He’d certainly take Host over Dark, and Wilford, those two were a little much for him. But overall Host was actually a favourite. Quiet and yet talkative, and full of some many little interesting bits of knowledge. Some. Thought the way he spoke was weird, but Edward rather liked it.

"The Host understands. Being awake so early isn’t good for either of the men sitting here, but neither can really change it. Either work or insomnia keeps the Host up, and it isn’t too different for the doctor either.”, Host hummed softly, drinking from his tea. It fit wonderfully to the sweet tea.

“The Host’s so called power isn’t like what Marvin possesses. He uses what anyone would define as magic, while the Host doesn’t. He doesn’t see the future or anything alike as someone would assume from a magic user, a fortune teller. The Host’s powers are nothing that can be trained. They’re there, like an illness, and have to be lived with. You cannot control something like that.”, Host frowned. He never thought about his “powers” having to be trained. Why? He could use them just fine, but that didn’t mean they didn’t have side effects. They were a part of him, like his anemia was, like anything else he was.

Eventually Edward was done and plating up the state of neat triangles. Dusted with a coating of icing sugar. He was actually quite chuffed with his efforts. Dusting off his hands and giving the counter a quick wipe as he looked to Host’s tea.

“Should we stay here to eat?” He questioned. Wondering if Host was comfortable where he was. Edward didn’t mind standing behind the counter to chat and eat. He’d been doing plenty of sitting as it was.

“The Host wouldn’t mind staying here, unless Edward would prefer to go somewhere else.”, Host replied, hands wrapped around his mug to keep them warm. He liked having warm hands, mostly since he was usually pretty cold. It was just his luck being underweight and having anemia.

He did want to try one of the sweet treats Edward had made though. They smelled nice, and of what his narrations told him, would be quite good tasting as well.

Edward gave a nod, and after handing over the box gave a final check to himself and his office before moving to the door, he left it open for Host, giving him a thanks despite his mumbles as he headed his separate way to the kitchen.

He washed his hands, and got to looking in the fridge to see what he could put together. Humming to himself quietly as he pulled out things and put them on the side. Butter, rolls.. He was awfully tempted to make something sweet, chewing his lip as he thought. Listening out for Host’s return.

“Did you fancy anything?”

Host settled at the kitchen table, opting to watch Edward as he quietly narrated, even with his blindfolded gaze. Just hearing someone else closeby was nice, a comfort. Of where he was, and how this reality was like. Should be like. He liked this reality quite a lot, especially since he knew a lot of others he’d never want to be in.

“The Host doesn’t have a preference. Though he’d suggest either small sandwiches or something sweet, so he can make a fitting tea.”, he replied. He did like tea quite a lot, though didn’t mind coffee either.

“The Host would like to stay in.”, Host replied. He didn’t like to go out anyways, since his appearance unsettled other people naturally, and he didn’t like the endless possibilities and amount of people and narration being outside brought with it. He didn’t mind going to deserted places though, like a forest or alike. It was why he preferred the very early morning hours, when no one was awake yet, usually even before the sun rose.

“The Host would like to pack some bandages before they go, though, so he won’t forget. He doesn’t like his bandages to get too bloody and not being able to replace them, when he needs to.”, he remembered, though he knew Edward had already grabbed the extra bandages for him.

“Perfect.” Even if the answer was expected from Host he still liked to ask. He gave himself a quick pat down while they spoke. He doubted he was missing anything. Asides his doctors coat, but he didn’t need that on break.

“Ofcourse, I’ve got them right here.” He held out the nice container. Not too big, but fitting plenty of rolls. “Just tell me when you get down to one or two rolls and next time I can simply drop them off for you, save you the trouble.”

“I’ll meet you in the kitchen?” He questioned, he was sure Host probably wanted to put those away first.

“The Host will make sure to meet with Edward in the kitchen.”, Host replied and nodded, taking the box from the other. “He thanks Edward for giving him the requested bandages, before letting the doctor leave the room. Host idly followed him out, closing the door behind himself, before making his way to his room.”.

Host continued softly narrating as he walked down the hall, glad that everything had gone over so smoothly. Once in his room, he set the container down on his dresser, picking a few rolls of bandages out to put into his coat’s pockets, before making his way back out and to the kitchen.

“If it is any help, I assure you we would try to bring you back however possible if either of those things were to happen, but I would like to assume they are unlikely.” It had to be stressful, seeing and knowing so much and yet still able to fear to possible events. He hoped for Host’s sake neither of the things described would ever come to forwishen.

“It is what I am here for, no need to apologise. I am glad you are well, and am happy to listen and assist however I can.” He would’ve reached out but again understanding of Host’s preferred bubble, he didn’t. “I would love to spend sometime with you. Did you have something in mind?” A walk or atleast lunch didn’t sound all that bad.

Host smiled softly at Edward’s words. It was comforting, even though he wasn’t sure if his mind got stuck somewhere else, anyone could help him. It was nice to think they’d try, though. He wouldn’t ask for more.

“The Host doesn’t mind if Edward wants to touch him, as long as he tells him he wants to, or asks.”, Host hummed, fingers idly playing with the buttons on his coat. He was never good keeping his hands still for long, but had never had the time to find a suitable stimming toy to satisfy his fingers.

“The Host has nothing special in mind, though he wouldn’t disagree to have some lunch with Edward, if the other would like to go eat something.”, he smiled lightly, never being fully sure how much he knew because the other person had said it or because of his narrations. So he tried to decide on his own what was best to talk about, spoken aloud previously or not.
