Flowers of your pain

“Thanks.”, Markus said softly. He carefully rolled out the dough, laying the rolling pin in front of the blob of dough he had started to make.

He felt around the cutters, feeling their shapes. He never thought too much of Christmas, if he was honest. But he was going to visit Arthur again, with or without Daniel.

Markus smiled lightly. At least he got praise, even if he couldn’t work on his own dough. He’d just. Ignore it for now. Daniel had given him something else to do after all.

“Do you want to cut out your own shapes?”, he asked then. Or maybe Daniel had brought more cookie cutters.

“We can do that. I brought some cutters from work as well if you want to use them” he hummed.

“Sure.”, Markus replied softly and nodded. He wouldn’t cut out shapes by hand. He didn’t tend to do that even before he knew Daniel, but now he still had big problems doing anything with a knife around Daniel. Afraid he wouldn’t let him, because he might hurt himself -which was pretty unlikely, but still.

But at least he could use cookie cutters.

Markus smiled softly, happy. He had a really good recipe for butter cookies, that could be nicely cut into shapes without losing their shape. He didn’t own a lot of cookie cutters though.

He hummed softly and pecked his lips gently before he started to make dough, then handing him some to knead.

Markus quietly made his own dough, needing some heavy kneading with the amount of butter in it. He was happy doing so though. When Daniel handed him dough to knead, he put his own away, biting his lip as he focused on kneading the dough he’s been given.

“Of course.”, Markus replied softly, happily kissing Daniel too. He took them every day, even though he had been unsure at first. But when he hadn’t seen any negative outcome, he continued taking them without much worry.

“What do you wanna do today?”, he asked, leaning against Daniel’s chest.

„I thought we could bake some Christmas cookies together? Christmas is in less than a week“ he told him and nuzzled his nose softly.

“That’d be nice.”, Markus hummed softly. He was still reluctant doing anything with Danielle related to cooking and especially baking, but felt more comfortable agreeing to things and trying his best.

Markus nodded, glad Daniel had felt it. He didn’t care for what he took it, as it couldn’t be taken as anything negative.

Markus nodded lightly, nuzzling against Daniel. He’d be fine. He was sure he’d be fine.

Two weeks later, he started noticing what these daily pills did. Before, he had been able to see some lights and shadows, like through thick fog. But it got better, very slowly, he could see a little better. He didn’t tell Daniel, afraid it was just a dream.

Daniel was currently at work since his holiday had been over. He soon was coming to Markus place again and smiled when he saw Markus. “Hey hun! I’m home!”

Marks smiled happily when Daniel came home, able to see the faintest of outlines when he got close to him, happily nizzling against him.

“How was your day?”, he asked. He had gotten a lot better with Daniel around, even if he still had depressive episodes, and nonverbal times.
