“Markus.”, Markus replied quietly. He was tense, sitting with another alpha. He knew he was safe here, he was in a cafe, and his bonding marks were obvious, and he smelled like his alpha -but he was still scared. He was just far too used to being scared of alphas by now.

He pondered over asking Bing for his name, before deciding against it. He just kept on quietly eating his cake.

Bing tilted his head at Markus, noticing his scent slightly changing.

“Would you like me to leave,” he asks softly, low enough that only he and Markus could hear him. He didn’t want the small omega to be scared around him, so if he had to, he would heave him alone.

“Ah- n- It’s- it’s fine, really.”, Markus wasn’t sure what to answer. He did want Bing to leave, but he didn’t want to tell him that.

His phone buzzed, before a ringtone chimed. Markus scrambled to pick it up.
“Yes?”, he asked, voice small. He listened quietly, shrinking into himself a little.
“Mhhm… yes.. of course I’ll- I’ll come right home. Sorry…”, a few moments later and he put his phone in his pocket, grabbing for his cane. He had already paid, for if he had to leave suddenly.

“Sorry, uhm- I- I need to go home. Sorry.”, he apologized to Bing, before he hurried off.

“Have a safe trip home!”, Elvin sat up and waved after Agnes, smiling. He didn’t mind when she’d come back, he was happy just to know she would come back at all. He knew that wouldn’t be forever, since she was just a mortal being, but he still looked forward to their time together.

He laid back down, deciding to keep on watching the stars.

.

Markus couldn’t calm down for another hour. Then his crying stopped, as he couldn’t bring himself anymore to cry. Then exhaustion took him over, and he couldn’t keep himself awake anymore.

His sleep was troubled, nightmares plaguing his mind. He woke up a lot, gasping for breath, terrified of being somewhere he didn’t know.

“Friend..”, Elvin hummed. “I haven’t had a human friend in forever.”. He had had one, he remembered. Of course he remembered, how could he ever forget?
“I’ll happily be your friend!”. He smiled brightly. He was really happy to have Agnes as his friend, it sounded really nice.

“I’m sure you’ll find the lake much easier in the future. Normally a charm leads people in circles around it, to protect me and my tree.”.

Agnes looked at him curiously when he mentioned having a human friend before. “Alright, thank you!” She smiles brightly. “I’ll come as often as I can.”

She looks back up at the stars. “How wonderful it is, to have a friend after a long time…”

“It really is.”, Elvin hummed. He was comfortable, laying on the ground next to Agnes, watching the stars. He wouldn’t get tired, since he didn’t need sleep. He didn’t really need anything, unlike humans, though he was aware that humans had a few different needs they had to obey to or they’d get sick.

“I’ll look forward to every time we can spend time together.”, he hummed, happy.

Markus was still startled when someone talked to him, looking towards Bing. Eyes such a light brown they could almost be golden.
“Ah- uhm. I’m alright.”, he replied, smiling softly at Bing. He was just dreading going home, but he couldn’t say that. He tugged at his long sleeves, making sure they covered his palms still, before grabbing the fork for his cake again.

“Sorry for taking up a whole table for myself. I’ll be done soon.”, he said quietly then.

“Don’t rush yourself, wouldn’t want you getting sick. Would you mind if I sit with you,” he asks softly, not wanting to impose on the omega. He was an alpha, but much more soft spoken and gentle than others. It might have helped that he was adopted by an omega pair when he was a child.

“You can say no if you’d like, I don’t mind. I just saw that you were a bit upset. I tend to care about people too much,” he said laughing softly.

“I don’t mind if you do…”, Markus mumbled in reply. He was bad at saying no, even when he was alone. Alphas in general scared him as well, from pretty much only negative experiences with them. So even though Bing was soft and gentle, he scared him.

He continued quietly eating his cake, taking sips of his drink.

Little Sapling

“Oh, I don’t get cold. Or need anything, really.”, Elvin chuckled lightly, picking the pack up and offering it to Nox again. “Thank you very much, though. You are very kind.”.

Nox was nice, and he was glad the bird had let her to him. She was really nice, and kind, and he was glad he had gotten to know her finally.
