Half of me and half of you

@growlingbeasts

Markus had been born half blind. One of his eyes a light brown, almost golden, with no real pupil. Milky. His other eye was (Ray’s eyecolour), and he always wondered which was his eye. Was he supposed to be blind? Or would he have sight, and his soulmate wouldn’t?

His older brother had it hard himself too, his eyecolours nearly matched. But he didn’t care as much about soulmates as Markus did.

Markus was living on his own by now. He had learned how to read braille, just in case he’d be the one who’d turn blind. Learned to get around blindly, cook, everything. Either he’d be blind, or he could help his soulmate if they were blind.

LIKE or REBLOG for a starter in a human soulmate AU!

I have 8 different ideas noted down, so if you prefer any of them, please tell me in a reblog or reply!

Otherwise I’ll pick whichever I like most!

  1. – At age 16, you get a journal. You can write anything in the journal, except for your own name and location, and anything else that makes it easy to find you (like yt channel name if you have one, phone number, etc.), these things will be “censored” by the book and be unreadable. What you write or draw in your journal, your soulmate can see in theirs (and vice versa).
  2. – At age 10, you get a key, which randomly appears somewhere you will find it quickly. The key is for your soulmate’s soul, so to speak, and fits in theme. The key will grow warmer the closer you get to your soulmate, until it burns.
  3. – Since birth, you have a black marking on your body, where your soulmate will first touch you. It bursts into colour when you and your soulmate touch.
  4. – Since birth, flowers grow where your soulmate is injured. They wither and fall off when the injury is healed
  5. – Since birth, anything you draw/write on your own skin appears on your soulmate’s (except for your own name and location, and anything else that makes it easy to find you (like yt channel name if you have one, phone number, etc.), these things will be “censored” and be unreadable)
  6. – Since birth, one of your eye’s colour is the same colour as your soulmates. Once you find them and look in their eyes, your eye colours change to be the same.
  7. – You age until the age of 22 and then stop aging until you meet your soulmate.
  8. – Whenever you’re really close to your soulmate, in touching range or closer, both of your chests start to glow.

Enyo wandered the forest with a small smile on his face, since the storm he had erected a cottages which was small on the outside but big inside so that it didn’t damage the surroundings. It was made of magic technically so no humans would stumble upon his home. He still didn’t have a name nor face for the forest deity, he was just very thankful for permission to stay. @crushed-starrdust

Elvin was very happy having Enyo here. It was just nice, and the animals of the forest were peaceful around him as well. They didn’t mind the little cottage, as well as visiting there. As long as Enyo was peaceful and kind, nothing and no one living in this forest would bother Enyo.

Elvin liked watching Enyo sometimes, rarely talking to him again -staying hidden most of the time, though not so that Enyo couldn’t see him if he would try.

The deity was currently on a small clearing, tending to some flowers. Humming some melodies he remembered as he helped them grow, and made sure no weeds would kill the little flowers.

Enyo just sat with honestly wanting to know about the deity- Elvin- who had been so charitable rather than speak himself. “Elvin,” He hummed a smile tugging his lips, “Of course, it would make sense for the forest to share with its deity.” He nodded his eyes being drawn to the antlers.

He was a curious soul that just couldn’t adjust to the times hence his desperation to escape the towns and cities. He had been able to keep up for a hundred years or so then everything became so industrial and changed so quick it made his head spin and he couldn’t handle being near it.

He flushed slightly. “My help is mineute compared to mine. I merely feed the little animals that happen upon my door and add new flowers to the land.”

“Your help is as meaningful as mine. We appreciate every little help, and your kind and caring nature is welcomed.”, Elvin said, smiling at Enyo. He didn’t mind how little Enyo’s help was, every little thing was important, and appreciated by everyone.

“I personally am very grateful that you are here with us. I do not get lonely, but I am alone most of my existence. So I am elated you are here with us. Your company is very pleasant.”. He was really very happy to not be alone all the time. Sure he had never been there with Enyo to really talk with him, but sometimes being able to talk to him and watch him was nice.

Aino was notably different from everyone else. Her sense of fashion was very unique, bat’s wings on her headband and shoes, wearing bows with eyeballs. Her electric green-ish blue eyes looked bored as she made her way through the streets, thinking about what to do. A necklace hung around her neck, a golden pendant hanging from it. In the middle of it was her soulmate-gemstone, the golden pendant around it decorated with intricate engravings.

On the opposite end of town lived a surprisingly lonely human for how nice he acts around everyone else. His gentle, down to earth personality letting him be able to get along with many people but unfortunately, at heart he’s an introvert, preferring time to himself rather than other people. This of course, combined with some emotional instability, led him down a path of loneliness and isolation, still going out on long walks to clear his mind but the weights of a thousand regrets crushing him like a boulder strapped to his back. But he kept on going, for the sake of everyone else and mostly for himself. He had soft, black hair, deep hazel eyes and wore plain, sometimes patterned, dark clothes, his only accessory being a fancy watch with intricate engravings and his expectedly small soulstone holding the hands in place. Today would be like any other day for him, taking a nice long walk around town to clear his mind from all of the regret and pain that haunts his fragile mind, usually sticking to avenues and parks thanks to his appreciation for the natural world and its calm ambience.

Aino looked towards him for a moment, before turning her gaze back up at the sky, not much caring for whoever decided to talk to her.

“Wonderful.”, she replied, rolling her eyes. She was laying on the ground staring at the sky, how was it supposed to be going? Well, she supposed this guy just wanting to strike a conversation, she shouldn’t get annoyed too quickly.

“Eh, can’t really say the same for myself but I’m glad to hear that.” The young man replied, shrugging as he looked up at the clouds, “You cloud spotting by any chance?” He asked as he looked back down at the girl yet again, knowing it was a very obvious question that may not have even needed answering but still he believed it to be necessary.

“No, I’m staring at the sun hoping to get blind.”, Aino replied, unable to resist the sarcastic answer. “And you? Asking whoever you see obvious questions?”.

She didn’t really like humans, nor was she very good at holding conversations. She could be a bit… unique in her being, making it hard to like her. And humans tended to stare at her gemstone -which she very much had wanted to put on obvious sight- which made them all the more annoying.

Aino yawned, stretching her arms out wide. She was incredibly bored.

She didn’t really care about soulmates, so she didn’t care if her stone was a rarer one or not. One of the rarest she’s been told, but why would she care? She’s already been alive for so long, getting depressed over potentially never finding her soulmate would just be dumb.

She started humming as she walked, deciding the park would be the best place to go. Going cloud watching was one of the only good things humans did, as far as she was concerned.

As she begins walking down this park, this young man, who was wearing his usual grey hoodie, black shirt, dark blue jeans and black trainer combo, just so happens to be sitting down casually on a nearby bench, looking up at the trees in front of him. His soft face was completely deadpan, being so focused on calming his thoughts that his facial expressions were no longer his concern. The only thing that kept him from going completely deadpan however were his eyes, which occasionally blinked and squinted for seemingly random moments. Oh and did I mention he wears a surprisingly fancy pair of prescription glasses? No? Oh, well there you go.

Aino noticed the guy sitting on a bench, but was completely content to ignore him. Why would she care about some random stranger after all? She was just fiddling around with her braids as she walked, looking around for a spot of grass. Once she found one, she plopped down and let herself fall onto her back, putting her arms beneath her head to pillow it some.

She stared at the clouds up ahead, one leg propped up and the other laying flat on the ground. She stood out with her pale skin and pink hair, but she really didn’t care about humans and what they thought. She didn’t care about pretty much anyone’s opinion.
