“I would believe it will make it warmer.”, Markus replied with a hum. He was pretty used to being in crates and barrels by now, just being able to lay was enough for him. Sure he had had a bed while he had to recover, but he certainly wouldn’t mind just laying on the ground either.

“How cold does it get in the night?”, he asked, curious. Maybe Oliver knew.

“It’s not winter yet, but it does get cooler by night. The blanket will definitely keep you warm.”, he responded. He didn’t care if he became too cold. Usually he had to keep watch, so being asleep wasn’t a priority for him. “You can have it. I don’t need it.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want you to go cold. I’d happily share with you.”, Markus was obviously a worried about Oliver, not wanting him to be cold or anything. Markus did get cold easily, and he appreciated getting a blanket, but he still wanted to make sure Oliver would be alright as well.

“Thank you.”, Markus said softly, looking towards Daniel with a little smile.
“Can.. you help me a little?..”, he asked quietly then. “I.. I just need to know what you made.. and where any glasses and such are..”, he mumbled. He didn’t want to grab into an open jar or glass, or knock something over.

“Of course darling” Daniel smiled softly and gently took his hand. He then placed his hand on the buns and croissants on the plate. Then he let him touch the little bowl with jelly, and then the glass next to it with the juice.

“That’s everything there is, Markus” he said softly and looked at him. God this man was beautiful, even his eyes which had a dull color were just mesmerizing.

“Thank you.”, Markus replied softly, carefully starting to eat. He never ate a lot, so he wasn’t sure if he’d eat it all, but at least it wasn’t far too much. He was thankful for that.

In the darkness of his room, since he didn’t think Daniel had turned the lights on, it was hard to tell how his eyes looked like. He hadn’t been born blind, and thus his eyes looked pretty much normal. In the light, they looked almost golden in colour.

“No to the second question. I don’t think I can answer the first.”, Arthur wrote back. He took care to still read everything aloud to Markus, so he knew what was happening.

“Do you read a lot?”, he asked in return. He wondered if she had a book by him. He was pretty popular, though who knew how much she liked to read. Especially his genres.

“She’s leaving anyways. Here, say bye.”, Arthur hummed and showed Markus where to reply. Markus was careful as he wrote, slow and wonky letters. “Goodbye.”.

“Now let’s make some food, okay?”, Markus hummed with a small smile. Arthur sighed and nodded, the two getting up

“I can’t go out in nature, so reading has replaced that. I’m fond of made-up things, not history or non-fiction.” Agnes hums softly. She took the book she had out to the living room.

“Are there any animals you see around often?” She was curious. It would help her narrow down a place, and she simply wanted to know.

Markus and Arthur thought together about what animals lived here, before Arthur could write something down. “Moose, deer, rabbits, squirrels. Probably bears and beavers? Foxes?”. They saw a lot now and then, though it sounded pretty generic for a forest.

“We should eat something soon.”, Markus spoke up then. They hadn’t eaten all day..

Colourful black

@thewaywarddemonchild

Since birth, you have a black marking on your body, where your soulmate will first touch you. It bursts into colour when you and your soulmate touch.

Markus didn’t know what could possibly happen to him. The black marking where his soulmate would first touch him was wrapped around his wrist, and he couldn’t tell if it was him getting pulled by it, or his wrist being held, or his arm moved, or anything. But he knew his soulmate would at least, hopefully, be able to notice they had touched when they did.

He stayed home a lot, blind and unable to work due to it. He liked going out though, to the park, sometimes.

Markus smiled brightly when Oliver took his hand, happily holding it and beginning to walk with him again. He was very happy to be with him, and to be able to travel with him. He didn’t think he would have managed on his own. He wouldn’t have taken the chance to travel on his own anyways.

“How far will we go today?”, he asked then, curious.

“As far as you want to go, or as far as we can.”, he shrugged. Unless he was desperate to get away from, or to, a particular place, there hadn’t been a need to set targets. He tended to travel for as long as he wanted. “Would it be better for you if we walked until we reach civilization, or…?”

“I don’t mind if we stay outside!”, Markus replied happily. He may have never done this before, but he wasn’t afraid. Oliver was here, and used to this, and would take care he was safe and everything would be okay. Markus would be fine if they didn’t find another village to stay in today.

Markus was very glad for the gentleness. He didn’t think he could handle more at the moment, even though he had been forced to learn not to say no and not to struggle. He wouldn’t be able to stop Daniel even if he wanted to. Though nothing was happening anyways.

“I should get breakfast..”, Markus mumbled softly. After the amount of blood he lost, he should at least drink something.

“Okay, you’ll stay right here. I’ll go make some food for you okay?” He smiled and slowly got up. Then the room was quiet for quite a while. But after about 30 minutes, Markus could smell the scent of freshly made buns and croissants and the scent of orange juice.

“O-okay…”, Markus mumbled softly and nodded. He hesitantly let go of Daniel, letting him get up. He pulled the pillow and blanket that were bloody off his bed and moved the rest of his pillows and blankets so he could sit up in bed still and be comfortable, hugging a pillow again.

He was tired as he waited, even as he smelled the food -wondering where Daniel had gotten all that from.
