Markus tensed at first, listening to Daniel. He barely relaxed by the time he was done, nodding lightly.
“Okay… I’ll… I’ll take a break when there’s a better opportunity for it.”, he mumbled. Just a few more pages, then there was a good spot to take a break at.

Markus just nodded lightly. Five was pretty late to start in a bakery. He wondered if Daniel was one of them that made cakes and such, and not bread and alike. He was pretty sure they started at three or four.

Markus shifted again, setting his book down and wrapping his arms and legs around Daniel again, nuzzling his face into his neck. Chest to chest was much better, and much warmer.

Daniel hummed softly and held him close, wrapping his arms around Markus back softly. “Or I could make you a cake. If you like cakes” he mumbled softly.

Markus just hummed in return. His throat hurt, speaking hurt, and he was tired. He was always tired. Even though he had slept a few hours ago, he was tired again.

“I don’t work…. Cus ’m blind…”, he mumbled quietly. He felt like he needed to tell Daniel whatever might make him dislike him. He didn’t feel deserving of anything good.

“Sounds like australia.”, Arthur hummed, and Markus giggled lightly.
“Everyone always says australia is a dangerous place.”, he replied, letting Arthur guide his hand so he could write again.

“Sounds like Australia.”, he wrote, giggling lightly as he felt Arthur nudge him. It did! Or at least, that had been his first thought too.
“It must be a long journey to America then.”.

“No.”, Markus replied. “I used to be a kindergarten teacher though.”. He really missed his job, but he couldn’t really do that blind. It was a risk he didn’t want to take, and rather gave up on that. Since that Arthur fully helped him out, and sometimes whoever was his partner for the time being.

Markus shifted, turning in Daniel’s lap so he could lean against his chest, nuzzling against him. He didn’t want to appear like someone weird, he hoped Daniel didn’t mind.

“I pretty much do… I love this book.”, he said softly, hugging the book close.

“That’s great! Everyone has a passion and if reading is that to you, then that’s fine. For me somehow, it’s baking. And I made my passion to my job” he explained to him happily.

Markus nodded lightly. He liked baking a lot too, though it wasn’t the easiest thing to do for him, even if he knew what ingredients he had and how much. Nothing was really easy for him, other than doing nothing.

“You have to work early in the morning then, right? I’m sorry for taking a free day from you.”, he mumbled. Since Daniel had came here in the morning..

“Alright then.”; Markus didn’t want to argue with Oliver. He would be glad for the warmth of Oliver with him, but if he was going to stay awake anyways, then what was he supposed to do?

“I’m really happy we’re finally traveling!”, he said with a bright smile.

His companion’s childlike optimism amused him. There was no reading to argue about things that didn’t matter. If he found himself wanting to share the blanket with Markus, then he could ask.

“The first night isn’t always the best, but… you get used to it. Hey, usually I do this with less money and not much food, so it’s better than what I’m used to. Besides…”, he thought over what he was saying for a moment, “I have you.”

Markus was a little surprised by that, but he smiled brightly and nodded. He was glad he never ate a lot anyways.

“I’m very happy you’re glad I’m here.”, he said, smiling bright and happy. It was nice to be wanted! Even if only a little. He was just glad to not be a burden or something.

Agnes giggles at the reply. It could be Africa too, but she was glad he got it right. She hummed softly as she thought of a reply. She tapped her marker against her skin again.

“Just an ocean away, yeah?” She smiles and lays down on the couch. She was having great fun with him. She hoped he was just as nice in real life.

“Still a big change. Our times must be so different. Aren’t there like twelve hours difference between us?”, Markus wasn’t sure how many, but he was pretty sure it were quite a lot. It was good he didn’t have work, or they might never really be able to talk.

“Okay darling” he smiled and pecked his hair softly before he leaned back and wrapped his arms around him again.

Markus continued reading then, a little more hesitant than before. When he reached a good stopping point after a while, he fell quiet, holding the book against his chest again.
