Markus was soon pretty comfortable just reading aloud to Agnes. It was nice, and he enjoyed reading anyways. His voice did start to hurt a little after an hour or two of reading, though that didn’t seem to bother him much.

Markus stopped when she spoke, nodding lightly. He hoped she still liked it, and that he hadn’t done something wrong.

“No..”, he replied quietly and shook his head. He could drink by himself. Other than walking around, he was pretty good at doing things by himself.

Agnes nods and sets the glass down next to him. “Please don’t knock over the glass.” She chuckles softly and settles back down, then takes a sip of her soda.

“The story is fascinating. I love the way you read, Marcus.” She smiles softly. “I bet you could get rich reading audiobooks if you weren’t an Omega.” She sighs. “What a terrible world this is, where certain people don’t get opportunity where others do.”

Markus nods lightly, very careful as he slowly reached for the glass, taking it and drinking. His throat thanked him for it, he should really stay quiet for a while.

He hummed lightly in reply to her. He had never really thought of doing that. “I was a kindergarten teacher once.”, he said quietly. He loved children, but after his sight had gotten too bad, he had to stop. Which was mostly the reason he got stuck with abusive alphas, he needed someone in his life to take care of. Not just because that was an omega’s job, but because he felt empty all alone.
