“I’d like to go to the fields!”, Markus replied with a bright smile. He also didn’t want to be on any boats for quite a long time if he could. But fields, they sounded the best. He was afraid a forest would be too dimly lit for him, and mountains made him think of the border of his kingdom -surrounded by mountains. So fields sounded like a dream.
“I’ll feel like I’ve been everywhere at the very least!”, he replied with a bright smile and happy giggle. He knew he couldn’t go everywhere, but so many places he’s never been to!
Fields were easier to hunt in, although it was usually small animals instead of fruit. They are less sheltered, and offered little protection if they were stuck outside in the rain. But Oliver didn’t mind.
“You really haven’t travelled much, have you?”, he asked. He had thought that royalty visited other kingdoms often. But they tended to travel to cities and other castles, not the countryside that he tended to stay in when he couldn’t go anywhere else.
“Not really no. When I was a young child I sometimes traveled with my brother, but that’s so long ago already. And since becoming king, I’ve been afraid to leave the kingdom.”, Markus replied. He would’ve loved to travel, but he had been afraid something could happen to the kingdom while he was away and he’d be blamed for it.
“Maybe it’d be best if you decide where we go?”, he hummed, smiling lightly. He really didn’t mind.
