“I do like tea.”, Markus murmured. He liked tea quite a bit, he liked the taste of most of them. He liked adding sugar or honey to them, but he knew that was expensive, so he didn’t mention it to Oliver.
He noticed when it was getting dark, since it was harder for him to see anything. He tried to look at Oliver still though, even when he could barely see him anymore in the dimming light, he didn’t really mind.
“Will you stay here with me?..”, he asked quietly, hoping. He felt better with Oliver close to him.Markus hummed lightly. Sleeping on the hard ground was still not good, but he was glad Oliver was going to stay with him. He didn’t fancy being alone and sleeping either, so it was nice to know Oliver was here.
“We should dampen the clothes again… before sleep.”, he mumbled. And he needed to sit up and drink his tea too.
“Will do.”, he murmured, sounding tired at even the suggestion of sleep. It was rare that he managed to rest well, considering that he would usually have to stay and keep watch whether he was alone or not. Being alone had become usual, though.
Oliver took the ripped fabric off of Markus’s ankles and forehead, dampening them again before placing them back. “Is that okay for you…?”
“Mhhm.”, Markus hummed softly and nodded. He scooted to the other edge of the bed carefully, inviting Oliver to lay down here with him. He was exhausted, from nothing but being sick. He hoped Oliver wouldn’t get sick too being close to him, but he didn’t think a fever was contagious. At least it was just a fever.
“Thank you.”, he said quietly. He was used to thanking people for doing things to him, and he wasn’t going to stop that just because of the circumstances.
