Markus looked up to Oliver when he felt his hands on his own. He hummed softly and nodded. “No one can understand another one’s life.”, he mumbled. They were so different too, Markus was aware. He was royalty, a king, and what was Oliver even? A citizen, a criminal maybe. Nothing Markus would ever even begin to grasp.

“People do bad things, thinking it’s for the best…”, he murmured quietly. It was pretty much the only thing he had been able to hear when he had been kidnapped and transported around. Someone wanted to rule his kingdom, because he was so inexperienced. Something Markus technically understood -he was inexperienced, and had no self-confidence as king- though knew the method of trying to get his kingdom a “better” leader was bad.

Markus gladly held onto Oliver’s hand, walking with him. He kept close to the other, keeping his gaze on the ground. He wasn’t used to being so close to someone, anyone caring about him. No matter what motive Oliver had, if he had any. It was nice to have someone, even if it was just for a shorter while.

“Thank you.”, he said softly as they walked inside. He just needed a bed for now, and a bowl with cold water, and cloths. He remembered he should drink a lot of tea too, to help his health.

He softly told Oliver what he needed and had to do -the cold damp cloths on his forehead and around his shins, the herbs for tea- needing his help with it all.

“I’ll buy enough herbs to last at least a few days. We can use the water we already have.”, he muttered, considering how much money he had left. Taking care of himself – when he cared to do so – was much easier than looking after someone else.

He took a shirt from his bag, only a spare, and tore the arms of it to get the fabric. Cloth was relatively expensive, and he didn’t want to have to buy it. The shirt was clean, though, so it would work. “…well, it’s something.”

“I’m sorry..”, Markus mumbled softly. “You don’t have to buy anything. I’ll be fine without.”, he really didn’t want to rob Oliver of anything, especially money-wise. He could tell Oliver didn’t have a lot, and since Markus had nothing at all, he couldn’t help in the slightest. He felt bad for burdening Oliver.

“Ill… just lay down.. Please don’t make living hard for yourself for me..”. He’d feel terrible if Oliver had to, just because Markus couldn’t take care of himself.
