Míngqin chirped happily, ruffling his feathers slightly as his chest was stroked. It was nice, and he took it as an affectionate gesture. So he was really happy he was getting pet.
He trilled happily when he was told it was time for food, hopping around as he tried to see. He perked up when he saw the servant, noticing the moving bag. He wanted food! He hoped he could get it, whatever it was. It seemed alive, so he hoped he could really hunt and catch it.
He smiled softly, reaching in the bag and pulling out a small mouse. Its tail was whipping and he murmured something into its ear. He took two of the legs then pinched them, the fragile bones breaking easily. There was a high pitched squeal and the elf whimpered softly. “I know, I know… it will be put out of its suffering soon, I promise.”
He placed the maimed mouse on the ground, it squealing and trying to run away. “You may eat.”
Míngqin watched curiously, not bothered by the sounds the mouse made. Though he noted it was the elf again, so he shouldn’t chirp. He wondered if they didn’t like being outside at all, considering all the birds that just tweeted away and didn’t stop like
Míngqin did.
As soon as he was allowed,
Míngqin jumped down from Joshua -using his wings to glide down- and pounced onto the mice. He broke its neck with his claws, before happily digging in and eating its insides.
