Markus kept happily climbing around and singing his songs. But he got hungry some time, not having eaten anything all day. He hadn’t gotten anything.
Looking to the ground, he couldn’t spot anything alive. He supposed they were on Joshua’s property, and there wouldn’t be any mice running around. He hadn’t see any squirrels either.

He did see Joshua though. So he jumped from the tree and glided down, no uplifting wind picking him up thankfully. He landed right on the book, and chirped at Joshua, jumping up and down.
“Master! Master! Wakey wakey!”, he chirped. He had heard earlier the other calling Joshua master, and since he had no concept of names, that must be his!

Joshua murmured softly in his sleep, slowly opening his eyes as he heard the chirping. A chuckle left him as he spotted the jumping harpy, calling Master. “Hello, little one. Did you have fun?”

He hadn’t intended on falling asleep. Not at all. But he couldn’t deny he felt more rested, and also a bit hungry. His hunger reminded him of his pets and he rose a finger to pet the others back. “Are you hungry?”

The harpy made a surprised sound when Joshua pet his back, but smiled. It felt nice, so it must be a nice gesture!

“Hungry! Birdie needs food!”, he chirped, hopping up and down on Joshua’s book. He was careful not to break it or tear it or something, he wanted to be gentle with it! Because gentle was good.
He chirped happily, singing a melody, clearly enjoying it a lot.
