He made sure he wouldn’t fall off the book when Joshua sat up, quieting when he was hushed. He did wonder what he meant though.
“Míngqin?”, he repeated, curious. He had no idea what it might mean, but he was curious.

He perked up when he heard he was getting a mouse, or a chicken. A chicken was big -if he remembered right what the animals were called- and he was sure he would have trouble with it if he was faced with one, since he couldn’t fly.

He hummed softly, watching as the elf servant departed. As soon as they were gone he looked back down at his curious harpy. “Ah- it means Songbird in Chinese. I’ve decided that is your new name.”

Joshua reached so he was petting its chest, moving up slowly to gently scratch under its chin. “Such a good pet.” He was nearly positive it was a male at the point. “Míngqín, do you think as yourself as he?”

“Míngqin!

Míngqin!”, he chirped happily. He liked it! It sounded nice! And he finally had his very own name!
“He? What’s he?”, Míngqin still didn’t understand what it meant, he didn’t know what gender is. He basically understood what it was, but he just didn’t know what it really meant.

He made a surprised sound still about the petting, though he made a happy chirping sound as he was scratched beneath his chin.
