It thought for a moment. It wasn’t even sure if Songbird was its name or not, it was simply what it had been called all the time.
“He?”, it really wasn’t sure. “She? They?”. It all sounded weird, it had always been called an it, hadn’t it?

“I don’t know what it is! Some harpy kind?”, it was really the only thing it had heard about itself before.

He sighed softly, cringing as his servant slammed into him. A small sound came from them as they pressed back against the other side. “Shh… it’s okay. No punishment. Accident.”

It squeaked when the half elf slammed into Joshua, claws tightening in the cuff to not fall off. It tried to stay quiet then though, watching the two of them. Punishment? He knew that word! And that one hurt! He didn’t like those.

“Sorry, Master Joshua. There was a rock in the road.” A small, squeaky voice said. “We have cleared it and will be arriving soon.”

Joshua hummed, looking at his harpy. “I suppose it will work. Are you hungry? I assume they did not feed you well.”

He almost chirped in reply, before remembering. No chirping with the half elf lady around! “Me want meat please!”, he said instead, ruffling his feathers. He was hungry indeed. “Give it only water and crumbs! Stupid bird doesn’t deserve expensive meat!”, he repeated what he had heard a lot before.
