His head was spinning, thoughts running faster than he could grasp. And he hesitated. He hesitated because he couldn’t hide the fear washing over him but the guard was behind him and forcing him forward.
Enyo’s heart was in his throat. He brought his trembling hands close to his chest trying to deal with how uneven his breathing had gotten. How has he let this happen? How had he got caught?
He scurried away from the Guard, keeping his head down as he walked. It felt like his legs would give in on him.
But he had no choice but to follow.
Markus was worried for Enyo, he could see the panic he was feeling. He would love to help him calm down, tell him that it’s going to be okay, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t for as long as they weren’t somewhere private, in the castle. So he tried not to show his worry as he walked through the town, though kept glancing at Enyo and his guard.
Once they were in the castle, Markus turned to Enyo.
“Tell me why you were stealing.”, he said. He needed to know, to properly decide what to do.
